A Mate For The Last Lycan -
Chapter 163: I HOPE YOU SUFFER
Chapter 163: I HOPE YOU SUFFER
A shrill scream from Elijah echoed inside the house of the healer. Glenda, who was in the other room with the unconscious Zuri, shuddered when she imagined what was actually happening with the head of the magic user.
The pain in his scream would make your hair stood on end.
The alpha broke Elijah’s legs, he stomped so hard on his kneecaps to the point, you could hear they shattered under the pressure.
Out of instinct, Elijah tried to use his magic on Khaos, but just like what happened to Zuri, some of their magic didn’t work on the lycan.
Everyone gasped as horror filled the room and Rhett couldn’t even do anything to help him. Elijah was crying right now, just like how Zuri cried when she begged them to stop.
Yes, she could handle eight curses before, but the interval between the previous ritual and now was too short. Adding eight more would be too much for her.
"I trust you, but you betrayed it," Khaos said calmly, his expression was devoid from any emotions, but his sharp eyes fixed on the head of the magic user, who was wailing in his feet. "I will give punishment and reward accordingly to those people, who showed their loyalty and those, who wronged my trust."
Khaos turned around and all of them bowed their heads until they touched the ground, too afraid to look at him, even Rhett didn’t dare to make a peep.
"I will see this as betrayal of trust," Khaos announced, which made them all trembled in fear for the consequences. Would the alpha break their legs too? "But, since I know that you only followed the order of your leader, I will spare your life."
The statement made them all visibly relief, but Khaos was not done yet.
"Starting from now on, you will report everything directly to me and Elijah will be under probation and you..." Khaos pointed a man, who looked like he was the strongest one among them. "You will overlook all the magic users until I decided what punishment for Elijah."
Bryden narrowed his eyes. He knew what kind of game that Khaos was playing.
The alpha was trying to weaken the cult by taking over their magic users. With this incident, his action was justified and they even grateful because the alpha only punished Elijah, while he understood that the other magic users only followed his lead.
Khaos did not only get what he wanted, which was the control over the magic user, but he got Elijah as well. The probation would be something permanent...
With this, Khaos would slowly claw his way to control the cult.
"What’s your name?"
"Dezgar, my alpha," the man said firmly.
And Khaos chose the one that he could manipulate to go against Elijah, someone, who wanted power.
Whether you were magic user or shifter, you would have your own desire and power was the strongest desire for anyone, who used to be the bottom of the hierarchy.
Khaos was looking for an ally from within the cult.
"You will take over Elijah’s position and you will report back directly to me, understood?"
"Yes, alpha."
You could hear the delight and relief in his tone.
And after Khaos showed his ruthless and merciful side, he went to the room next door to see Zuri’s condition, he didn’t even give Rhett an attempt to approach him and spit bullshit.
"How is she?" Khaos sat down next to Zuri. She looked so pale, it was concerning.
"She will be fine, but we don’t know for sure what the side effect she will have until she woke up," Glenda replied. She glanced at the stain of blood on the front of Khaos’s shirt.
"You can leave."
Glenda didn’t need to be told twice, as she left the room and tended to Elijah. His legs could be hardly healed, his best chance was, he would have a limp or he would be disable for the rest of his life.
But, that was the last thing he needed to worry about, because Khaos put him in the chapel and didn’t allow him to leave the place.
’Reflect to his action.’
That was what he called this punishment, but the truth was; he confined him here to cut him off from the cult.
Meanwhile, Zuri woke up the next day and Khaos was still in the same position the whole night, he stared at her sleeping face, thus he knew immediately when she scrunched her brows.
"Khaos..." His name was the first thing that she said and Khaos caressed her cheek, telling her that he was there, since she still had her eyes closed.
"How do you feel?"
Out there, the sky had turned a little bit brighter, as pale light of the winter sun filtered through the room from the window. Everything was still.
"Pain. So much pain." Zuri opened her eyes, she stared at the distance, she didn’t see anything in particular.
"I will call Glenda, she will make you feel better," Khaos said, he got off the bed, but before he could leave, Zuri stopped him.
"Is it in the middle of the night? It’s so dark, I can’t see anything..."
The silent that followed after that was even more horrible than what happened to Elijah.
"No, it’s early morning, Zuri. It’s rather bright here. The sun has just risen."
Zuri blinked her eyes, she bit her tongue to stop herself from crying. "Am I... blind?"
Glenda was called after that, she checked on Zuri’s condition and thankfully, it was not permanent condition.
She would be fine in three days, but during that time, the darkness would be her company. This was one of the side effects of the curses, more would follow.
"I really hate you, Khaos. I hate all of you. I hate this life. I hate this world. I hate everything," Zuri said, she stared at the distance, emptiness in her eyes. "I hope you get what you wanted and then
