Chapter 158: Mischief and Memories ( 158 )
"I just want to know~" Keiko pouted, resting her chin on her pillow, eyes locked on her mother.
Riko perked up curiously from beside her.
But before she could ask anything, Hitomi quickly reached over and gently covered her daughter’s ears.
"You don’t need to hear this, Riko-chan~" she said with a soft laugh.
Hanako sighed, adjusting her sleeping robe, then mumbled under her breath—
"...Sometimes."
Keiko’s eyes lit up.
"Once a year?"
Hanako frowned.
"No~"
"Then how often~?" Keiko grinned.
"Tell me, Mom~"
"You’re too old to be this nosy," Hanako grumbled, hiding half her face behind her pillow.
Kyouko shook her head quietly, pressing her lips together as she pulled the blanket up to her chest.
"This is why I said don’t ask."
Her voice was calm—but her cheeks were faintly pink.
"Why not? It’s fun!" Keiko giggled, poking Kyouko’s side.
"Let’s ask you next, Kyouko-neesan~"
Kyouko turned away, pulling the blanket higher.
"Hitomi?" Keiko suddenly turned to her sister-in-law, eyes gleaming.
"Just go to sleep," Hitomi muttered, pulling the blanket up over her nose.
"Kenji onii-san doesn’t do it often?"
"Stop asking," Hitomi said, her voice muffled under the blanket.
"He didn’t?" Keiko grinned, clearly not letting up.
There was a long sigh from under the covers.
Then, after a pause...
"...Sometimes every day."
Keiko’s eyes widened.
"Eh!?"
"At least three times a week," Hitomi added softly, now completely hiding her face.
"Wow..." Keiko whispered, blinking.
"That’s... that’s intense."
Riko—still shielded by her mother’s hands—blinked in confusion.
Kyouko gave a soft laugh, shaking her head again.
"That’s enough, Keiko. You’re going to make Hitomi-chan run out of the room."
"Mou~ but it’s fun!"
After the lights went out, the room was filled with the soft rustling of blankets and the quiet hum of cicadas outside the window.
The girls lay side by side on their futons, some already drifting off, others still hiding little giggles beneath their covers.
In the dark, Keiko leaned in slightly toward Hitomi, whispering just above a breath:
"...So you use your mouth?"
"Keiko!" Hitomi hissed, flustered even in the dark.
"Shh!" Kyouko whispered from the other side.
"Riko-chan’s still here."
"She’s asleep~" Keiko replied, clearly amused.
Hitomi groaned softly, pulling the blanket over her head.
"I knew I shouldn’t have said anything."
A small giggle slipped from Keiko’s side of the futon.
Keiko, not quite finished with her playful probing, leaned toward her mother now, voice low and mischievous.
"Mom..."
Hanako exhaled softly.
"...What is it now, Keiko?"
"You also do it? With your mouth~?"
A soft thump followed as Hanako lightly tapped the blanket between them.
"Stop asking weird questions already."
"But it does look like men really love it when we do that~" Keiko whispered, barely stifling her giggle.
There was a pause.
Then Hanako muttered under her breath.
"...That’s not something you talk about with your mother."
Kyouko, still quiet in the dark, softly shook her head with a faint smile.
"Keiko... you’re unbelievable," she whispered.
"Mou~" Keiko pouted again.
"Hitomi?" Keiko whispered again.
"...What now," came Hitomi’s tired voice from under her blanket.
"You’re not planning to have more kids?"
"Daichi-chan and Riko-chan are already big enough," she replied.
There was a pause.
"...I don’t know," Hitomi said softly.
"Why?" Keiko pressed.
"Kenji said... he doesn’t plan to have another baby right now," Hitomi explained.
Keiko grinned in the dark.
"But he still enjoys the process, right?"
Hitomi let out a muffled groan.
"Keiko..."
From the side, Hanako sighed again.
"You’re so stubborn," she said softly.
"What? I’m just saying~," Keiko giggled.
"Men always say ’not now’—but their actions usually say otherwise."
Kyouko just smiled quietly into her pillow, eyes closed, listening with gentle amusement to the conversation.
Hitomi muttered one last sleepy comment.
"...He definitely loves the process. Just not the outcome."
That made everyone softly laugh again.
"So..." Keiko whispered again, voice full of mischief.
"You love the process too, right?"
There was a pause.
Hanako sighed.
Kyouko exhaled softly .
Hitomi just groaned and covered her face with her hands under the blanket.
The room fell into a short, telling silence.
Keiko blinked.
"Eh? What with that silence?" she teased, raising her brows in the dark.
"That means yes, doesn’t it?"
"It’s not a yes, it’s a please stop," Hitomi murmured into her pillow.
Keiko giggled.
"Come on~ it’s not like I’m asking for details. I’m just saying—it feels good, right?"
Hanako muttered from her futon.
"...I’m too old for this conversation."
Kyouko didn’t say anything, but the way she lightly tugged her blanket higher over her face made her answer clear.
"See?" Keiko whispered.
"You’re all just shy."
"Unlike you, Keiko... we don’t moan so loudly when we’re doing it."
Keiko blinked, then grinned in the dark.
"Hmm? But it feels too good~"
"At least control the loud moan," Hanako said, clearly embarrassed but trying to maintain dignity.
"It’s natural, Mom~" Keiko whispered back.
"When it’s that good, I can’t control it."
Hitomi groaned into her pillow again.
"You really have no filter."
Kyouko stifled a soft laugh, hiding her face under the blanket.
"Some walls are thin, Keiko," Hanako added.
"Think of the neighbors."
"They should be jealous~" Keiko giggled.
"I bet Hitomi and Kyouko-nee-san are loud too," Keiko teased, stretching under the blanket.
Then, with a sly grin, she added,
"Well... isn’t Mom the same?"
That caught everyone’s attention.
"Me, Kyouko, and Kenji-onii-san—we all heard it when we were little."
Hanako sighed and shook her head, clearly flustered but trying to keep her grace.
"Just go to sleep, Keiko."
"You know..." Keiko whispered, mischief dripping from her voice.
She raised one hand and brought her palm down lightly against her thigh.
A soft slap, repeating it slowly.
"Those sounds~" she whispered.
"You know... that sound."
The room fell completely silent.
"Keiko!!" Hanako hissed, face red even in the dark.
The air shifted—not awkward in a bad way, but suddenly heavy with unsaid memories, flushes of heat, and stolen thoughts of their own quiet nights with their husbands.
No one spoke.
A beat passed. Two.
Hitomi covered her head.
"I’m so going to sleep now."
Kyouko stayed very, very quiet, her heart fluttering, her face warm.
And Hanako, barely whispering now, said with a tiny shake of her head:
"That child has no shame."
Just as the silence began to settle...
Keiko whispered, her voice barely audible but tinged with amusement:
"I’m sure... when dawn comes..."
"Someone will be gone from this room~"
A hush followed.
Hitomi groaned softly.
Hanako sighed.
Kyouko... said nothing.
