Chapter 89: Chapter 88: The Hydra’s Tear

"We’re under attack?" Zoey thought, looking at the man which looked ruffy and disheveled. Many scars and bruises adorned with body, and he was fiercely defending himself against enemy pirates.

"Captain Felicia! The enemies are boarding the ship, and we’re losing men!" Immediately upon hearing the captain’s name, Zoey felt a large headache suddenly appear, causing her to grunt in pain as a huge flood of memories immediately entered her mind.

Captain Felicia, leader of the Steel Blade Pirates, one of the most dangerous pirates of the seven sees.

Felicia was a woman in her early 20’s, she had long black hair, wore an eyepatch even though she didn’t lose an eye, and had a large sword on her hip that she used to cut down many pirates.

Zoey immediately understood why the pirates were here, and why they were attacking their ship.

It was because they were in possession of a lost and sacred treasure, known as the [Hydra’s Tear], a sacred and mysterious artifact that was lost to the realms of legends for hundreds of years, and yet, after many years, the Steel Blade Pirates managed to acquire this lost treasure.

’The Third Trial, I didn’t think I’d wake up in the middle of a damn pirate battle.’ Zoey thought, a bit annoyed but also somewhat excited, the treasure that was the [Hydra’s Tear].

"Captain!" The panicked shouting of one of her men finally snapped her out of her thoughts as she started to observe the chaos that was happening all around her, the pirates were battling against each other fiercely, screams if pain and anguish ringing out as the smell of blood and gunpowder filled the air.

"Sorry about that, I lost consciousness for a second, mate." Zoey said, exhaling as she took the sword from her waist, finding it to have a small blue glow, it was likely enchanted by some special properties.

"Haah!" A man from the enemy ship suddenly charged at her, holding a large blade above his head.

He swung his blade at her, which Zoey easily managed to block, pushing him back before delivering a strong kick to his chest that send him flying hard across the ship.

’These bastards are trying to steal my...well, not exactly mine, but Felicia’s treasure!’ Zoey thought, annoyed as she dashed straight into the chaos.

From her observation using [Heightened Senses], Zoey was surprised to find that these people were actually Awakened, even though they somewhat resembled barbarians, she could see that they had Mana in them.

’That’s odd, I didn’t expect them to have Mana in their bodies.’ Zoey thought, dodging a slash before retaliating with her own, splitting the bodies of many of her enemies apart as they were brutally obliterated by the might of her blade, a small water outline stretching from her sword.

"Holy! What happened to the captain?" A member of Felicia’s crew asked, suprised as he observed the changes that happened to their captain.

Felicia was different, not only did she suddenly gain a dramatic increase in strength that was never before seen, but her aura also exuded a much more different, terrifying feel to it, almost as if a beast has awoken inside her.

’It feels so strange....being inside the body of another woman, I wonder how I’m going to return to the world like this. Will the Tower transfer me out of this body, or am I permanently stuck like this....I hope it’s not the latter.’

Zoey shuddered a bit in fear from the possibility of the latter happening, but she couldn’t afford to get distracted in the middle of the fight.

’I need to practice my swordsmanship skills, It would be a waste if I don’t do it while inside the Trial.’ Zoey thought, seeing another foolish pirate run up to her.

The sword was broad and had a really sharp edge, but was a short sword, and not a sword she was used to using back in her own world.

Similarly, all the pirates except the captains had similar swords to her own, but hers was different, as it was enchanted with some special water effect.

"Die!" The pirate yelled, leaping into the air as he crashed her sword down onto Zoey.

In that moment, Zoey concentrated deeply as she recalled the mentoring of Mira. She exhaled slowly, relaxed her shoulders, and put one foot behind the other, and lowering her sword to her side as she stared at the sharp blade coming toward her.

SWOOSH! CLANG!!

The pirate was knocked out the air as Zoey parried his attack with immense strength, sending the pirate falling off the ship and crashing hard onto the seabed, a wet splash resounding all throughout.

"What’s going on?" A man with a long rough beard and a skull symbol embedded onto his hat asked, looking at the chaos of the battle happening on the Steel Blades Pirate ship.

He was the captain of the enemy pirates, a powerful man who could control the element of thunder to a frightening degree, the Thunder Hook.

"Captain! Felicia seems to have undergone some change of power! She’s killing all out men like nothing!" The panicked right hand man of the Thunder Hook exclaims, seeing the blood spewing out of the shredded bodies of his brothers, while Felicia continued to cut them down with frightening power and skill.

"That sea urchin!" The Thunder Hook exclaims in anger, his entire body erupting in thunder as he leaped from his ship all the way to Felicia’s with a powerful jump, crashing onto the wood hard as he made his dramatic appearance, his eyes locked onto the stunning, but also cold killer that was Felicia.

The pirates could easily do this feat of strength by jumping from their ship all the way to another, since they were Awakened, they were far stronger than normal people, making them a far bigger threat to towns alike as many feared pirates, their cruel and greedy nature showing no bounds.

Only a few powerful people dared stand against the pirates, they were the Resistance, bounty Hunters that hunted down pirates that were destroying their homes and making their lives a complete misery.

"Felicia! Hand over the [Hydra’s Tear]! And I’ll spare all your lives!" The Thunder Hook exclaimed, his voice raised high and his body crackling with thunder madly as he raised his golden hook, it’s entire being enveloped in crackling lightning.

’....’ Zoey looked at the Thunder Hook with a blank expression, his words had little to no affect on her, as it didn’t make her feel any ounce of fear.

Most of his men were already cut down by her sword, turned into severed parts by the brutality of her slashes, and yet he had the gaul to threaten her?

It was almost laughable.

"Hehehe," Zoey chuckled, amused as she let out a grin. She pointed the tip of her sword at the Thunder Hook, her crimson eyes gleaming with a psychotic madness "And what if I don’t~? What are you going to do about it~?"

The Thunder Hook exploded in anger, "Then this is where you all die!!!" The Thunder Hook roared, pointing his hook at Zoey as his hand erupted with a powerful bolt of lightning, going straight for Zoey.

’Heh~’

Zoey quickly took out her [Stone Carved Shield], one of the few she still managed to have left after the Apocalypse of the second Trial.

The bolt of lightning collided with the [Stone Carved Shield], but unexpectedly for Thunder Hook, the usually extremely explosive thunder, barely made any impact on her shield, as most of the shock was absorbed.

"What!?" The Thunder Hook exclaimed in surprise, looking at the strange artefacts in Zoey’s possession, one that nullified the effects of his powerful Thunder magic.

The ship continued to rock on the waves of the ocean, the constant fighting of both pirates was also influencing this a bit, as their superhuman strengths clashed onto the ship in a fight of dominance.

The Steel Blade Pirates were finally getting the upper ground, as they had more remaining men and could now fight back even better with the help of their captain.

"Oh well, I suppose it’s my turn~"
