Chapter 82: Chapter 81: Learning to Lead

"HAAAAAH!" Two tanks holding shields immediately rushed to her call, appearing before her as they blocked the attack from the hound, struggling a bit under its strength, and with a hard grunt, pushing it back.

’She’s doing pretty well so far.’ Zoey thought, her arms crossed as she leaned against the wall to observe the battle unfolding.

The beast growled as it was pushed back, landing on the ground as it observed them with its glowing eyes, its back hunched as it prepared to attack once more.

Celina breathed out slowly as she observed the beast, this was one of the tactics Zoey taught her as a leader, and it was to utilize the Tanks not only to protect them, but to counter attack as well.

Her body was surrounded by a bright blue glow as her [Rabbit’s Gift] was activated, her speed increasing by two times as she grabbed her sword tighter, before dashing forward with a powerful dash.

"Haaah!!" Celina roared as she appeared in front of the beast with quick speeds, her sword raised high. The beast was even more terrifying in person, its fangs looked like it could bite her head off, but she pushed through her fears as she delivered a powerful slash to its side, cutting deep into its hide.

The beast roared out in pain, but Celina wasn’t done yet, as she quickly withdrew her sword, before thrusting it into its neck with a powerful stab, the blade’s end appearing on the other side as blood drenched her sword, killing the beast.

"I...I did it." Celina muttered to herself in amazement, her eyes wide as she looked at the dead body of the Dark Hound she had just slain, a huge sense of accomplishment washing over her, to the point where even her hand started to tremble uncontrollably, her breaths becoming funny.

"Good one Celina!" A Tank congratulated her, walking up to her as he placed a hand over her shoulder.

"Our first kill!" The Hunters were becoming increasingly excited as they just witnessed the slaying of a monster before their eyes by Celina, their morale being boosted by the act as they felt more confident in clearing the dungeon.

"There’s more, look ahead. Don’t get too excited yet~" Zoey’s voice echoed behind them, as she pointed into the darkness of the cave, multiple red gleaming eyes of more Dark Hounds making their way toward them becoming visible.

"Damage Dealers! Get ready! Tanks! Move forward! Healers! Be on standby in case anything happens! Mages! Attack!!" Celina shouted her orders as she pointed the tip of her silver sword at the Dark Hounds that started to rush towards them, their paws pounding on the ground wildly.

The Mages raised their hands in the air and aimed them towards the beasts, as their palms began to glow with a blue aura as Skills were being activated. A bright burning flame began conjuring above the Mages as they released their attack, releasing a largely sized fireball towards the hounds.

The flame came in contact with the beast, igniting a powerful explosion that sent debris flying, and dust clouds forming. Some of the beasts were successfully killed by the attack, as the Mages received some notifications about their death, gaining a few exp.

But as expected, that wasn’t the end of it, as the hounds that survived leaped out of the dust clouds, and started to rush towards them again. They were very injured, covered in various burns as some of their fur was still on fire.

The Tanks quickly rushed forward as they blocked their attacks and held them back, the Damage Dealers came in quickly as they used this opportunity to attack the beasts with their weapons.

The beasts were a bit tricky to kill, but they managed to do it in the end with their cooperation, ending the lives of the Dark Hounds and gaining Exp.

"I got my first drop! [Dark Hound Hide]!" A Hunter shouted in amazement, as he took out the Material and held it high for everyone to see, celebratory cheers echoing around them.

’Their formation is still basic, but it’s a good starting point for them. Their combat still needs to be improved, as I could tell that they were struggling a bit in killing those Hounds earlier.’ Zoey thought with a small smile.

’I can’t really blame them, it is their first time fighting a monster, so it’s pretty normal for newly Awakened Hunters.’ Zoey thought, walking up to Celina who turned to look at her.

"That was great, you’re improving rather quickly." Zoey complimented her, making her smile in accomplishment as she felt really proud of herself in that moment.

"However, you have to understand something important. Your tactics were all good, except for the involvement of the Mages.

Starting out, their Mana won’t be much, and by using strong attacks like that, it could tire them out incredibly fast, so be careful when utilizing your Mages, okay?" Zoey said.

"I understand, thank you Miss Zoey." Celina nodded, her expression hardening in determination as she clutched her sword tighter.

"Alright everyone! Let’s advance forward, there are monsters deeper inside the cave!" Celina said, ordering everyone as she started to walk forward.

Zoey followed along as she walked beside the many Hunters in the cave, as in today’s Dungeon Raid, she wasn’t the one leading them, so she would also have to obey Celina’s orders. The only exception being that she can’t intervene too much, as she would need them to grow from this experience.

They walked deeper into the cave, the Tanks at the front, and the Mages at the back, with Celina being right behind the Tanks, and the Damage Dealers being right next to her.

The cave was cold and smelled of wet dirt, their surroundings were still visible, but a bit hard to see. As they continued to venture through the cave, they ran into more Dark Hounds which they were forced to deal with and kill for more experience.

Celina had miraculously achieved her first ever level up, becoming level 2 while the rest of the Hunters were still at level one, and nowhere close to even leveling up, showing just how much her potential was in comparison to everyone else’s.

"ARGHHHH!!!" A Tank cried out in pain as a Dark Hound managed to bite him at his shoulder, its sharp fangs sinking into his flesh, causing severe pain to course through his body as he lost some Health.

Zoey’s eyes narrowed as she frowned a bit in disappointment, she had expected the Tank to block the attack or even avoid it, but he was caught up in fear from looking at the beast, ending up with him getting seriously injured.

’Sigh, looks like we have a scaredy cat with us.’ Zoey sighed, disappearing from her spot as she instantly appeared in front of the beast, taking out her [Venom Punisher] spear.

She thrust the spear forward, impaling the wolf with immense speed and strength as its body was shredded terribly and thrown far away to crash into a wall, dying.

"H-healers! Quick, give him first aid!" Celina ordered, her pupils shrinking in fear as she looked at the bleeding Hunter, a deep sense of guilt filling her heart as she felt responsible for the injury the Tank had gained.

The Healers quickly rushed over and assisted the Hunter by giving him first aid, their movements frantic.

’I should’ve paid attention, maybe if I reacted fast enough, I could’ve been there to prevent this from happening.’ Celina thought, looking away for a moment as her heart clenched.

"Focus!!" Zoey said to the injured Tank, "You need to be prepared at all times! Your actions could’ve put your teammates’ lives at risk, it is your duty as a Tank to keep your members safe." Zoey said, placing her hands on her hips as she let out a deep sigh.

The Tank nodded, ashamed of his own weakness. He wasn’t really anyone brave, he was actually someone who got scared easily, so seeing a monster about to attack him left him paralyzed in fear.

"I’m sorry Miss Zoey...I should be doing better." Celina apologized, her head hung low as she feared that Zoey might’ve become disappointed in her.

"You’re not at fault, not everyone can be brave immediately. The Tank is probably going to need time to adjust to this new reality, so I can’t really blame him for his weakness." Zoey said, walking ahead.

Celina and the rest of the Hunters soon caught up as they continued to move through the floors, facing even more Hounds. Celina this time tried her utmost hardest in battle, as she was doing her best to carry the team, utilizing the abilities of her Talent to its fullest as she fought hard on the battlefield.

The Hunters during this time had finally gained 1 Level, while Celina was already at level 3 upon reaching the Second Floor, where the enemies were tougher, and the Exp was higher.

SLASH!!!

Another Dark Hound fell to her blade.

"Huff...huff..." Celina panted, her chest heaving as multiple dead bodies of hounds lay everywhere, the Tanks and Damage Dealers facing their own monsters as the sounds of battle echoed all around them.

’I need to...work harder...I can’t afford to disappoint Miss Zoey.’ Celina thought inwardly, her expression hardening as she looked forward at the Dark Hounds approaching her, quickly taking on a sword stance.
