Chapter 58: Chapter 57: Crimson Savior: Zoey’s Relentless Rescue

Zoey’s figure flew in the air, her hair flapping majestically. She gazed down at the zombies below her, all walking and letting out horrific sounds. Zoey didn’t pay them any mind, as her target, the school where Lana and Celina were located was her primary objective.

"Humph!" Zoey grunted a little as her figure landed on the rooftop of a small building, a massive crack forming underneath her as dust clouds spread out from her landing.

’I need to hurry before it gets dark.’ Zoey said before she quickly broke a sprint, jumping from rooftop to rooftop as she moved with brilliant speeds, her figure moving nimbly as she continued to hurriedly dash towards the school.

Zoey arrived at the edge of a rooftop as she suddenly came to a stop and observed the place, the school was just infront of her, the massive gate as well as the destruction that laid around quickly caught her eye.

’There a few zombies around the area, as well as a few monsters. If I take them out quickly, I shouldn’t be noticed, right?’ Zoey asked herself, a small nervous smile blooming on her face as she leaped from the building, taking out her [Knight’s Oath] sword, hoisting it high above her.

A zombie turned around groggily, looking at a red haired figure descending rapidly. But before it could do anything, the sharp end of the blade she was carrying plunged deep into it’s skull, it’s body falling under the weight of the girl as it pinned down by her massive strength.

’One down. Time to clean up this mess.’ Zoey thought as she removed the [Knight’s Oath] Sword from the zombie’s skull, a wet pop coming from her doing so as brain matter and blood covered her blade, a sharp exhale leaving her lips as she quickly vanished from her position, confusing the zombies as they saw one of their kind get murdered or....well, uh....killed again?

Zoey’s blade flashed as she quickly got to work, with amazing movements she quickly dealt with the zombies, her speed and strength enough to obliterate them all in mere seconds as scattered limbs flew in the air, blood and pained hoarse soudns escaping their throats.

’I’ll sneak from here....there are alot more zombies surrounding the premises. Some of them look like students...hopefully the kids are still safe. Sigh.’ Zoey thought with a small sigh, as she leaped over the school’s walls and landed in a bush.

The sound caused a few zombies to look at where the sound was made, but they soon carried on as if there were nothing there, their intelligence wasn’t great at all.

Zoey’s figure darted out of the bush at insane speeds as she quickly thrusted her sword in the back of another zombie, before quickly pulling out the blade and severing the zombie’s head, retreating behind another set of bushes.

The zombies heard the thud of their brethren, but they continued on regardless.

’Looks like they can’t detect me yet. This is good, makes if far easier for me.’ Zoey thought as she quickly got out of the bushes, using [Fireball] and firing a fireball at the ground surrounding a few zombies, a massive dustcloud appeared and shrouded the zombies.

Zoey didn’t waste any time as she quickly dealt with them inside the dustcloud, before firing alot more dustclouds that enshrouded the rest of the zombies in dust, making it hard for them to see anything.

’Alright...now. All that’s left is the school building.’ Zoey thought as she stood among the decapitated bodies of the zombies, their blood painting the once rich grass a deep red, an unsettling sight for most people, but for some reason, Zoey wasn’t affected by it all.

’May the dead find peace in the next life.’ Zoey said with a flick of her wrist, all the blood from the zombies falling from her blade and onto the ground with a sickening slash, the [Knight’s Oath] blade now shiny as ever as it’s steel reflected in the warm glow of the setting sun.

Zoey approached the doors of the school, finding them open as destruction of a once prestigious place, now laid in ruin.

Zoey used her [Heightened Senses] Talent, and as expected, there were still zombies in the school grounds, she could pick up their vibrations through the air thanks to her enhanced senses, so she knew exactly where they were.

’...strange. I sense other vibrations too...one....no...two people. They’re close to each other, they aren’t moving, more like they’re....trembling.’ Zoey thought, as she opened her eyes from concentrating.

Zoey moved through the hallways, she knew where the kids were, and where the rest of the zombies were as well.

As she moved through the halls, a zombie tried to lunge at her, opening it’s broken jaw to bite at her, but Zoey didn’t spare it a glance as she severed the monster in two with a powerful slash of her sword, the mere power managing to carve a clean line through the walls behind it.

Zoey continued to move through the hallways, effortlessly dealing with the zombies as she cut them down easily.

Inside a rundown principle’s office, lied the body the principle. Their skin was green and their hair was peeled off by what looked like acid, a good portion of their face was also gone, as in their skull lied a massive bookshelf that was used to kill them, their eyes plus brain matter popping out under the weight.

In the corner of the principles office, were two young school girls, holding each other in their arms, visibly trembling. They both had long golden hair, and one was visibly younger than the other as the other looked to be 15, the other looking 2 years younger.

"Sis...I’m scared...the scary man tried to hurt me...." The younger girl cried in the arms of her older sister, truly terrified as she closed her eyes to look away from the zombie remains of the principle they had once known.

"It’s okay....we’ll be fine...daddy will come to pick us up...." The older girl tried to reassure her younger sister, but it was obvious that she too was deeply terrified, her own eyes on the brink of tears, but she had to stay strong, for their sakes.

’Daddy...where are you..’

Suddenly, a harsh bang came from the door of the principles office as a zombie started to mindlessly bang on the door, the sound deeply terrified the younger girl as she let out a frightened scream.

"Shhhh! Lana, keep quiet!" The older girl quickly hushed hey younger sister, covering her mouth as her eyes snapped to the door, her heart sinking as she saw the door visibly shake and tremble from the force of the zombies banging.

In mere moments the door came off as the zombies managed to break through, their horrid sounds of hunger filling the room as they set their sights on the two young girls.

’No....we need to get out of here...’ The older girl unknowingly began to cry, tears streaming down her face as she tried to stand up, but couldn’t, her legs felt numb, trembling out of fear.

Just as the zombies were about to attack and tear the girls to shreds, the zombies at the back quickly lost their heads as a blade flashed at superhuman natural speeds, decapitating several zombies as their heads left their shoulders.

"Hey there." The voice of a woman sounded behind the last remaining zombie, who had purple skin and was rotting horribly.

The zombie turned around as they saw a woman with short crimson hair stand in the doorway, holding a powerful sword in her hand that hummed with power. Before it could react, the woman moved quickly and stabbed the sword through it’s chest, the sharp end of the sword poking out from the other side of it’s back.

The woman lifted the zombie with her superhuman strength above her with her sword, a small amused smirk playing by her lips as she then threw the zombie out of the open window of the principle’s office, launching them outside as their body fell to the ground with a sickening crack, a small crater forming underneath them.

’Wha....who is she....’ The older girl looked at the woman that miraculously saved their lives, her expression didn’t show a hint of fear as she stood there with a majestic aura that bloomed around them.

"Lana, and Celina, right?" The woman asked, her serious expression turning to more soft and kind one. She lifted the hand the sword she had was in, before it dissapeared into a marvellous blue light, shocking the girls deeply as they couldn’t believe what their eyes were seeing.

"Who....how..." Celina tried to form words, but she was too shocked as all she could do was point at Zoey with wide eyes, disbelief etched all over her face.

’So these are David’s daughters. I made it in time.’ Zoey thought with a relieved sigh escaping her lips, she knelt down infront of them as she gently offered a hand to pick them up, a warm smile etched onto her face.

"I’m Zoey, a friend of your father. I’m here to take you to him."
