A massive shockwave boomed from Zoey’s punch as her fist and the Lord’s arm came into contact, the force behind her blow so powerful that it broke off multiple chunks of the Lord’s arm as rocks and debre flew everywhere. A grin spread across Zoey’s face.

’Hahaha! The damage is incredible! Truly worthy of a max-levelled C-Rank Skill.’ Zoey grinned as she observed the damage done to the Lord’s arm, finding it truly incredible.

The Lord however, suffering immense damage, grew frustrated as it raised it’s other arm and dealt a strong blow toward Zoey, the wind curving around it’s massive weight and powerful force.

Zoey’s eyes quickly formed on the target, but she couldn’t dodge the attack as she was airborne again, and her [Grace Of The Wind] Skill was on cooldown.

"Gah!" Zoey coughed as she quickly took out a [Stone Carved Shield] and blocked the attack from the Lord, her body being thrown hard onto the ground as she landed with a sickening crack, the floor beneath her breaking as she was covered in a huge dustcloud.

’Damn, that really hurt, but I didn’t lost much health. Luckily.’ Zoey thought with a small, a bit psychopathic laugh as she rose from the ground, glancing at her health which lost about 7% of it’s maximum.

’[Earth Skin] and [Hindering Earth] are really fantastic when they are levelled up to the max like this, even though they were C-Rank Skills in the begining, I’m pretty sure they could be entering B-Rank with them being at 100.’

Zoey contemplated a bit excited as she gazed at the form of the large Lord towering over her. Skills in the Hunter world were usually difficult to level up, as they were required to be used over and over again to gain mastery and understand their abilities.

Passive Skills could be levelled up without doing anything, as they just needed time and Mana to automatically level up, just like [Earth Skin] and [Hindering Earth].

The higher the Skills were ranked, the more difficult it would be to raise their levels, with some even taking up to weeks of continuous usage to master. However, Zoey didn’t have that drawback for her, as she could level up a skill to it’s peak, within just a few hours of continuous usage, or using materials. Which was Zoey’s favourite method of leveling up her Skills.

’I wonder what you will drop once I defeat you, hahaha!’

Zoey thought as she started to sprint, running towards the Lord with quick steps. The Lord watched as the small figure of Zoey was rapidly approaching, before crashing it’s foot on the floor, to which massive spikes formed and peaked from the earth, to which Zoey quickly evaded. Annoying the Lord further.

The Lord then blocked another attack from the red haired girl, stumbling back a bit as the force of the attack managed to deal incredible damage, thanks to the effects of the [Armour Weathering] Skill, which was heavily reducing the Boss’s defences.

RAAAAAH!

The Lord roared as it opened it’s large rock mouth, powerful gust of wind spreading out across the Golem Sanctuary as Zoey stopped in her tracks, her vision zooming in on the sounds of crackling which came from the Lord’s mouth.

’Is it preparing to use a ranged skill?’ Zoey questioned suprised, her eyes narrowing at the thought as she instinctively prepared herself, activating [Heightened Senses].

Flames that took on the forms of sharp projectiles shot from the Lord’s mouth as it let out another powerful roar, a furious fussilade descending upon Zoey, piercing through the air with impressive speeds.

Zoey tuned her senses to the maximum as she instinctively began to dodge the barrage of flame attacks, explosions occured wherever the flames missed, sending debre flying and causing the floor to split with the force of it’s heat and destructive power.

’Damn, it’s hot. Even though it’s not hitting me directly.’ Zoey thought, continuing to dodge as she felt the heat of the explosions starting to trickle on her skin, causing her to sweat a little. But she refused to falter.

Zoey started to run around and jump side-to-side as she continued to dodge the flames, moving at impressive speeds. After the siege of flames had died down, the heat from the Lord’s mouth beginning to reduce, Zoey took her opportunity.

’If it wants to play that game, I will too.’ Zoey thought as she quickly formulated a plan.

Zoey raised her hand as she activated [Fireball], sending a powerful barrage of flames on the Lord’s face as it exploded and caused a massive cloud which blocked it’s vision.

’Now that it’s vision is blocked, I can take advantage of this and start dealing damage for a bit.’ Zoey thought as she quickly dashed at the Lord once more, activating [Meteor Smash] once again as she leaped into the air to attack it’s face.

The Lord let out a gruesome roar as it removed the cloud of smoke and ash obscuring it’s vision, only to be met with a powerful strike from Zoey’s fist as it connected with it’s face.

BAM!!!

A clean hit was done to it’s face as it wasn’t left with anytime to react and hope to block the attack, a massive crack forming on it’s face as massive damage was dealt to it’s face.

Large chunks of debre and stone broke off it’s face as it stumbled back, but Zoey quickly landed on the ground and used [Fireball] once more, assaulting it’s face with a massive barrage of flames as it’s face was obscured in smoke once more.

’Hahaha! It’s working!’

This was Zoey’s strategy, obscure it’s vision with smoke, while continuing to hit it over and over again with powerful strikes of her [Meteor Smash] Skill, reinforced by her [Hardened Will], and [King’s Fury] Skills, dealing massive damage with each blow.

The battle raged on with Zoey overpowering the Lord with her sneaky tactics, the roars of pain and agony echoed throughout the Golem Sanctuary as Zoey continued to hit the Lord repeatedly, using her [Fireball] Skill in a deadly manner that irritated the Lord to great lengths. But even it with it’s massive strength couldn’t do anything.

Finally having enough of Zoey’s antics and quick-witted attacks and agility, the Lord decided to use it’s trump card: [Equivalent Exchange].

A massive gust of wind and Mana poured from the Lord as massive power radiated from it’s stone form, cracks appearing all over the Lord’s body as Mana peaked from the cracks, shining through them.

’What the?’ Zoey instantly became alarmed as she sensed the dramatic change in the Lord’s power, sensing it’s strength increase drastically.

Thuds of stone and rock pieces echoed through the Golem Sanctuary as the Lord’s form began to decrease in size and weight, like a snake shedding it’s skin, the Lord was changing!

Becoming smaller and smaller, but stronger and stronger with every second that passed, it’s aura surrounding it becoming deadlier and deadlier.

The stone that fell from it’s body now rose as it surrounded it’s body, spinning around it threateningly as runes now covered their forms.

The Lord finally ended it’s transformation as it’s form was now on equal height with Zoey’s, but it’s power was now thrumming and humming off it’s body, a deadly aura surrounding it as the rocks surrounding it began to rotate threateningly, crackling with power.

’It became smaller?’ Zoey thought, observing the Lord. It’s form now matched her in height, far different than it’s ginourmous previous height. The runes on it’s body now pulsed more powerfully, and dangerously, the light in it’s eyes glowing more erratically.

Suddenly, the Lord moved. Dissapearing with absurb speeds as it quickly appeared infront of Zoey with terrifying speeds, shocking her as her senses screamed danger, barely managing to block a strong blow from the Lord, her figure being blown away as it flew into a pillar of the Golem Sanctuary, crashing through it before coming to a stop and lying on the floor.

’Argh!’ Zoey grunted in pain, slowly rising from the floor as her arm throbbed in pain, her mind racing. ’It’s fast! And not only that, but far stronger too! I barely reacted in time.’ Zoey thought as a sweat broke down her face.

But that wasn’t the end, as the Lord bolted towards her once more, quickly appearing infront of her again, arm raised to attack, the rocks around it spinning quickly in a circular motion.

But she was ready this time, sidestepping a punch from the Lord as she dodged the attack, feeling the gust of wind barely missing her. The Lord was far stronger and faster than before, she couldn’t take things easy anymore and rely on it’s slowly anymore as well. Now she had to truly fight with everything she had.

Zoey quickly acted and counter attacked with a punch from her side as well, but surprisingly, her attack was blocked, but something interesting caught her eye, as she saw the damage done by her punch was very strong, even though it was blocked by the Lord, cracks formed around it’s arm, signifying it’s impeding break.

Zoey’s immediately widened as a huge realization dawned upon her, a knowing grin forming on her face as she stared into the eyes of the Lord, crimson against crimson, a smirk forming on her face.

’Ah, I see. This skill, it comes with a price, doesn’t it?’
