Chapter 51: Chapter 50: Round After Round

"Yaaaah!" Zoey roared as she delivered a strong punch with her fist to the Boss Golem’s face, a strong crack forming on it’s face as it was pushed back by the force of Zoey’s blow, a gust of wind blowing through her clothes from the impact.

’As I thought, sharp blades don’t damage it well, even if they’re pretty powerful like [Void Requiem], as it’s tough exterior is made to be very resistant to cutting.’ Zoey thought as she observed the damage to the Golem Boss’s face.

The [Stone Skin] passive skill she had, made it hard for her fists to get hurt as she punched the Golem Boss, as the skill was a pretty powerful C-Rank Skill, especially now that it was levelled up to 100. Zoey couldn’t even feel the pain in her fist.

Zoey landed on the ground, before delivering a powerful blow to the Golem Boss’s chest, creating another strong crack as it was pushed back by her blows, it’s form faltering.

The Boss’s eyes glowed again as it blasted lasers at her again, but Zoey disappeared with [Grace Of The Wind] as she appeared behind the Boss, striking it hard once again.

’This should be over quickly,’ Zoey thought as she continued to hit the Boss’s back with strong blows, her arms a furious blur of powerful movements. The Boss spun around slowly as it endured all the hits, cracks and massive holes with marks of Zoey’s punches forming all over it’s body.

It raised it’s rock shaped hand high as it prepared to crush her, but Zoey quickly leaped back as she dodged the attack, a massive crack and dust blowing around the area she stood a second ago.

Zoey landed on a pile of rubble, the room was filled with rubble that was glowing and fading away in a golden light, as these were the remains of all the Golems that the Boss had killed previously. Zoey sidestepped a laser beam shot at her with quick reflexes as she soon broke a sprint to avoid the laser trailing behind her.

’If it weren’t for my fast speed, I would’ve been dead by now. I’m lucky that this is a Golem-themed Dungeon.’ Zoey thought with a small sigh, running around the Boss as it desperately used its lasers to try and kill her, but it couldn’t keep up with the speed of the red haired Hunter that was running circles around it.

[Mana: 60%]

Zoey glanced at her Mana percentage, seeing that it was filled back up to a good amount from all her time utilizing [Concentration Breathing], while also conserving her Stamina and mainly avoiding the attacks of the Boss.

’This should be good enough to finish off the Boss, while also reserving more for the next wave.’ Zoey thought as she grinned, activating [Hardened Will] and [King’s Fury] instantly, her body exploding with power as a furious red aura formed around her body.

Boom!

Zoey struck one of the legs of the Golem Boss, instantly shattering the stone as it’s body faltered and started to fall forward. She quickly leaped out of the way as she watched the Golem Boss crash to the ground with a heavy fall, the room trembling under it’s weight.

Zoey quickly used this chance to leap onto the Boss’s back as she raised her arms above her head, and with a mighty roar, she brought down her hands as she slammed them hard onto the back of the Boss.

The Golem Boss’s back broke as it burst into destroyed pieces, a large dust cloud forming as the Boss was destroyed. Zoey stood tall above the remains of the Boss, a sharp sigh leaving her lips. She climbed off the remains of the Boss, watching it disappearing in golden particles of light.

’C’mon....’ Zoey stared at the remains of the Boss as it continued to disintegrate, her eyes narrowed as she silently hoped to secure the Boss’s Skill.

However, no notification sounded in her mind....

’...’ A lingering silence stretched out around Zoey, the world blurring out as she found her figure in a world of darkness, utterly dumbfounded as a huge surge of disappointment crashed hard onto her as she sighed.

’I didn’t get the drops...’ Zoey sighed, her hope for the cool laser Skill had instantly been crushed.

However, she refused to give up, instead, she felt honored. Her journey up to now, she had been constantly gaining drops with her luck, and an insane amount that would make any Hunter die with rage and jealousy, so she felt grateful for what she had currently, realizing just how much she had in comparison to other Hunters.

’But I won’t give up.’ Zoey clenched her fists as a huge sense of determination filled her being, although she didn’t manage to secure a Skill Book, she wasn’t going to give up, not without giving her all in this Dungeon.

Zoey decided to rest for a short bit, to recover her Stamina and Mana more, as after a few minutes, the third wave had started. Portals appeared once again, and more Golems walked out of the portals, the room slowly filling with a large amount of them.

’There are still many bosses left for me to destroy, and if I can’t secure at least one skill from them, I’m more than confident that I’ll be leaving here with atleast one good Item that could be of use in the second Trial.’ Zoey contemplated with a serious expression as she rose from the ground, standing her ground as the Golems started to approach her.

’[Grace Of The Wind]’ Zoey called the name of the Skill in her mind, a powerful gust of wind blasting from the soles of her feet and launching her figure towards the Golems like a bullet, before a powerful crash knocked the Golems back, rubble and stone flying in the air as a powerful punch from Zoey knocked many back, while also managing to kill a few, as she instantly used [Hardened Will], deciding to conserve Mana by not using [King’s Fury] on top of it.

The battle raged on as Zoey dealt with the absurb amount of Golems, their large and imposing figures, being knocked back and thrown into walls by the powerful punches coming from the small Hunter, gusts of wind and the sounds of shockwaves being rippled through the air became a fierce melody of battle that reverberated through the Golem Sanctuary.

’Looks like using Melee was the right choice, as I’m doing quite a lot of damage to them.’ Zoey thought, a giant slam of a Golem’s hand crashing down to her, she raised her hands in the air as she caught the fist in her small hands, stopping the attack with her strength.

Her arms ached a bit, but she was pumped by the power of the [Hardened Will] Skill, as she slammed her fist at the hand of the Golem, instantly breaking it with overwhelming force as she leaped into the air and slammed her fist into it’s face, breaking it’s head as it was defeated.

’Oh, another one? That’s good, even if it’s just materials, having so many is always a good thing for me.’ Zoey thought with a small smile as her figure twirled in the air, before landing on another Golem’s head.

The Golem raised it’s arms to try and squash Zoey off it’s head, but she was already in the air as she easily dodged it, watching as the Golem’s palm hit nothing but air.

’Hm?’ Zoey’s senses were sharp as they were enhanced by [Heightened Senses] to magnificent degrees, her eyes instantly turned to a large fist of a Golem spiraling towards her.

She realized that she wouldn’t be able to dodge it, as she was still airborne, and couldn’t use her [Grace Of The Wind] Skill to propel her away, so the only option she had was to....

’Punch it!’ Zoey screamed the command in her mind as she raised her own fist in retaliation, slamming her fist against the Golem’s, a powerful wind shockwave shot out between the two. The Golem’s fist broke off, and Zoey’s figure was launched away, slamming hard into a wall.

"Ack!" Zoey coughed as she felt pain all over her back, however, it wasn’t very extreme, as she only lost about 8% of her health from the attack as she activated [King’s Fury] to increase her defenses mere moments before the crash.

’That was a pretty good attack, I couldn’t even dodge it considering I was in the air. That Golem really took advantage of that, hahaha!’ Zoey couldn’t help but smile as she rose from the ground, ’Looks like I might have some fun while I’m dealing with these weak ones.’

Zoey immediately sprang back into action, reigniting the fierce clash between herself and the small army of Golems. An excited laugh escaped her mouth as she continued to slam her fists into their forms, her punches reinforced with excited vigor as she couldn’t help but grin excitedly, a new feeling forming in her body as she continued to face off against the Golems.

She was having fun.
