Volume 15 Chapter 8: Don’t Mess With The Child

The meal continued onwards. Eri continued to eat it; she may not have preferred it, but she ate it happily since she accepted anything. However, there was an awkward silence at the table. Keith calmly ate his food before they returned to their room. Entering the room, Mir and Lei quickly waddled over to their sides.

Eri tugged his pants, "Papa, okay?"

"Po,po." Mir and Lei tilted their heads at him, wondering if anything was the matter.

"No, there's nothing wrong. But Eri, you can't say something like that. It's rude." Keith stroked her head as he warned. If this had been any other family, they would have gotten angry. He was just lucky this happened in Scarlet's home.

"Okay." Eri nodded.

"Good. Now go play with Fira and the others." With a wave of his hand, he summoned Fira.

"Fira!" "Eri!" The little spirit hugged the fox girl. Keith chuckled as he watched the four play in the corner of the room. He sat on the bed while he watched her smile. Thankfully, she hasn't realized it yet. There was another issue he had with coming here. Human and beastman; two oddities came to the demon kingdom.

He turned to Eri, who was holding up one of the plates. He was fine with the maids and the others giving him the side eye. However, it was an entirely different matter with her. He didn't want her to face that. And yet, it seemed that Eri was all right with it.

Maybe because she hadn't noticed it? Her height made her look at their shins rather than their eyes. Moreover, Keith had been covering her eyes. Plus, the child was focused on other things. But it was only a matter of time before the fox girl became keen on it.

"Keith, I'm coming in." Scarlet entered the room.

"You could have knocked."

"It's fine. You weren't even in the showers." Scarlet smiled as she sat beside him.

“Sorry about what happened before.” An immediate apology came out, “My brother is usually a good boy. But he’s acting like a pain.” She could only sigh as she held her face. She was embarrassed about this situation.

“It’s fine.” Keith waved his hand, “What can you do about it? But he needs to tone it down in front of Eri." That was the only issue he had: he didn't care what happened to him. But Eri was a different matter.

"I've already warned him. Actually, you can punch the fool into space if you want!" Scarlet pumped her fist.

"...You sure you should say that?" You know that's your brother, right?

"Of course! A good beating would always shut a person up!"

"You sound like a thug."

"...But it's true."

Keith sighed as he patted her head, "There's nothing you need to worry about. I'll keep to myself."

"...Thank you." Scarlet leaned onto his body as she watched Eri play.

While the two talked with one another,

“Mother, we can’t have a human here!” Tharaziel's eyes were bloodshot as he stated this. The mother and son duo were sitting in her room. The demon prince's frustrations boiled to this point. His glare at the table was only scratching the surface of the situation.

Elyndra shook her head, "Son, you need to calm down. What you did at the dining room was uncivilized." Even she found his actions over the top; it was directed at both the boy and the little child.

"But he was a human."

"Even if he was a human, you don't show hostility at the dining table. You are a prince; remember to mind your manners."

"...Yes, mother."

Elyndra took a sip before stating, “We will not be doing anything to the child.” There was something strange. That oddity came from one person. Lady Lilith values the child. She may not have said it outright, but there was a different look compared to all of the others from this.

"What?!"

“I’m warning you, do not cause any trouble against the child.” Elyndra didn't like Keith. However, she wouldn't do anything to him since he was a guest, and Scarlet and her mother-in-law favored him.

Plus, it seemed he wouldn't do anything as long as no one touched him.

That was why she had to warn her son here. She was afraid he would do something rash.

“I don’t believe it!” Tharaziel thought differently, “I bet that guy is hiding his true skin!” He gritted his teeth and held his fist closely as he stared out the window.

There's no way my sister is infatuated with a human. He had to cast a spell on her! It was up to him to lift this curse!

Elyndra could only hold her head as she watched him.

What is going to happen? That was something she didn’t want to do.
