Volume 14 Chapter 47: Why Didn’t You Call Her?
Keith and the others slowly brought the cart over to the location and got to work. As they did, he had to remind them, "Are you guys really right?" They don't look that fidgety right now. However, he had to say something just in case.
"We know." Carolyn rolled her eyes.
"We'll be fine." Scarlet chuckled as they got prepared to take orders. It was going smoothly under Keith's watchful gaze.
"My, so this is where you're working." Looking up, he spotted a familiar couple. A smile blossomed, “Hello, Auntie.” It was none other than Julius and Thalia.
“Mother, Father? You two came here together?” This was a surprise for Carolyn. Julius, she had expected to some degree as he would come from time to time. But Thalia was also there as well.
Thalia grinned, “Of course. I can’t have your father always come here alone.” Julius flinched; the fear was so apparent and clear in his eyes. She was definitely here to keep a stern watch.
Keith could only shake his head. Figures something like that was going to happen. It was never a matter of if but a matter of when. Of course, Thalia would get irritated with him coming here all the time.
"Oh, Mother! You have to help me! Keith has been bullying me!" Carolyn instantly tattled. Thalia's eyes widened, intrigued, "Hmm? How is Keith bullying you?"
"She got chubby from sitting around and eating all those sweets. So now I'm making her exercise." Keith explained the situation before Carolyn could say a word. Clearly, she would have said something weird.
"I see." Thalia raised her thumb up, "I support you."
"Mother!"
"Keith is usually correct. And he's right; you indulge in sweets a little too much." She had seen it all; Carolyn consumed way too much sweets. It was absurd.
"..." Keith grinned, "No one is on your side."
"What would you like to order, Mother?" Carolyn quickly changed the subject. If she let it continue, who knows what would happen?
"Double what your father orders."
Carolyn took her order while Keith started to work. Thalia watched from the side and grinned, "Our daughter is so happy." There was a giant grin on Carolyn's face as she worked.
"She shouldn't be working." Julius frowned. The concept of having her serve other people didn't sit well with him. Not because she was a princess but more of him being a doting father. My daughter should be treated like a queen, you brat!
"As long as she's happy, I'm fine with it." Thalia smiled, and Julius tried to wrap his arms around her. However, what he got was a slap; his hand was swatted away like a bug.
"Who said you can touch me?"
"Dear,"
"You're still on time out for all the trouble you've caused." Thalia was still fuming over the incident with Carolyn's engagement. Even after all this time, her anger didn't let up.
"..." Julius really wanted to cry in this situation.
Carolyn soon came back with trays in her hand. The queen's eyes widened, "Why is there so much?" There was an absurd amount before her.
"Hmm? Dad usually orders this amount." Carolyn answered like there was nothing wrong.
"...Oh really." Thalia's eyes darted at the king, "So all those times when you brought home just a few skewers, you've been stuffing yourself like a pig?"
"EPPP!"
Keith and the others ignored the situation; they didn't want to get involved in a couple's spat. That was when he announced, “Everyone, I won't be coming here for some time."
“What?!”
“I will be studying for my finals!” Keith stated but added, "But don't worry, Diana will watch over the cart for me!" With Diana here, there was no need to worry.
While Keith was doing something like this,
“Hmpf!” Faelyn waved her spear and took out the monster that was before her. And that was not the end, as she used her earth to kill them. She took a deep breath, and Krystal nodded, “That was a swift move.”
Faelyn, Krystal, and Sarah had headed to the dungeon.
“So why did you ask us to come with you?” This was a little surprising since it was them. They thought for sure she would ask Alfia. The way the two made combo moves together would be perfect for one another.
“I would have asked the princess to come with me, but she has a lot on her plate now…I don’t mean that you guys don’t have anything.” Krystal and Sarah already had their finals. The only ones they had left were quite a few. Krystal sighed, “There’s no need to worry about it.”
“Mmhmm, we also need to focus as well.” Sarah grinned.
“We also got ourselves a great lineup.” The team management that the group had was quite even out, and they had Sarah, the healer, who brought even more stability to the team. While they continued to talk, another group of monsters slowly came at them. Krystal and Faelyn made the move and attacked while Sarah used her magic.
