Volume 14 Chapter 38: Where Did You Get Them?
The next morning, Keith woke up and noticed Eri was not sleeping. He didn't need to search; turning to the side, he saw the little fox sitting on the desk and staring at the plate with a cute frown. She was hard at work as Aria raised the next plate.
Her eyes were slightly concerned before it brightened as she answered, “Puppy!”
"Hoo."
"Aww." Her ears drooped down as Aria flipped the plate over. It was a wolf instead. Should I take one of them out? Keith had made a wolf and dog plate. However, the wolf had pointy ears, while the puppy was droopy. Despite the miss, she continued onward with Aria as the teacher. It was an interesting sight to witness.
Keith chuckled as he patted her head, "You're not going to get it on the first try. Now, let's get changed and brush your teeth." She really likes it. Keith didn't expect her to wake up earlier to play with the new toy.
“Okay.” A pout appeared as they headed for the bathroom. However, she kept looking back at Keith's room with longing.
How adorable. Once the two finished brushing their teeth, Keith headed to the kitchen to cook. The little one was sensible; she chose to assist him with cooking.
As they finished eating their breakfast, it was time to head out and work. But when that happened, Eri decided to stay home for today.
“What happened? Where’s the little fella?” Cedric questioned as he noticed the missing person. And he was not the only one.
Eri had become a mascot with Mir and Lei. They doted the child like she was their own.
"She wanted to do something else today." Keith noticed her excited look; she wanted to memorize all the plates by the end of the day.
"Aww, I wanted to buy her some food." Some customers liked the child being here.
“Either way, come and get your food!” Ignoring some grumbles, Keith returned to work. While he did, Cedric asked Krystal, "Little Gem, did you get hurt in the finals?" Having been gone for so long, he was concerned for his granddaughter.
“Grandfather, there’s no need to worry about anything.” Krystal’s cheeks were red, but Cedric was a doting grandfather, and he continued to check her out. Keith shook his head as he continued to sell food around.
"Grandfather, I'm alright. There were some hiccups, but I recovered." Krystal’s cheeks were red. Cedric was a doting grandfather. He didn't believe her words as he examined her body up and down. Keith didn't look in that direction as he worked. Having him focus on Krystal made his work more smoother.
"By the way, is there any new food?"
"Hmm? Are you going to add something to the menu?" It had been quite some time since he had done so.
Keith shook his head, "Nope. I don't plan to incorporate a new menu item." He only spent a week in the forest. However, the only new meat he obtained was the tunneler. Was it even delicious? His curiosity got the better of him as he dumped a couple into his storage.
It was interesting, to say the least. So why not keep it around and see how it tasted?
"Then you have to let us taste-test!" Nephele's locked onto him. Keith waved his hand, "Maybe another time.
Aidiun finished his work at the academy and returned home. When he did, he heard some laughter coming from the dining room. As he glanced in, he noticed Eri and the other babies playing. He tilted his head as Eri shouted, “Puppy!”
“Po!”
“Yay!” Eri cheered as she stared at the correct answers. And this was not the end, as the others did the same. Aidiun sat down and watched her keep going.
He muttered, “Eri, what is this?”
“Game!” Eri stated, her eyes narrowed as she stared at the plates some more. She continued to name what she had seen on them. While she did, Aidiun was staring intensely at the plates. It had a lot of details. Plus, it seemed that Eri was also learning how to write without realizing it.
What an interesting way of learning. Aidiun smiled, “Eri, can I give it a try?”
“Mmhmm.” Eri was the one who picked up the plates, “Uncle Aidiun, what’s this?”
“Is that area?” From how it was designed, the owl was definitely used. But Eri shook her head, “Nope! It’s an owl!”
Aidiun chuckled, “Where did you get something like this?”
“Papa!”
“...” Obvious. When there was stuff like this, Keith would always be the one to do something. Guess I will talk to him about this later.
