A Core Ship From The Start -
Chapter 968 - Chapter 968 Chapter 666 Shock_3
Chapter 968: Chapter 666 Shock_3 Chapter 968: Chapter 666 Shock_3 The Elf Ranger spoke with unease.
“My sisters and I patrolled the Lost Ground years ago, and back then, it was completely empty, devoid of anything!”
Indeed, as the Elf Ranger said, Duanmu Huai couldn’t possibly conjure an entire city out of thin air.
But there was no need for that.
As everyone knows, an Imperial Battleship is basically a church with an engine installed underneath, right?
So, what Duanmu Huai did was blow a massive hole in the ground and then summon a warship to place on the land, and then he buried the lower half.
Perfect!
You see, doesn’t that make a cathedral appear?
Praise the Ancient Saints, thankfully their web paths ignore all obstacles, and luckily the Chaos Evil God cannot use these pathways, which gave Duanmu Huai a slight advantage.
The closer they got to the huge cluster of Metal Cathedrals, the more oppressive and silent everyone became. From afar, they had no concept of the size of these buildings, but standing at the foot of this cathedral right before their eyes, the overwhelming grandeur and enormity still completely shook the Natives of Faelun–they weren’t even as big as a nail on one of the building’s panels!
“I can hardly believe what I’ve actually seen.”
The Dwarf’s body swayed, on the verge of collapse, while the others remained silent. Indeed, in this world, it’s not like there’s no such thing as similarly grand structures. But they are more reliant on the surrounding natural environment, such as a mountain or a cliff, to utilize and adapt nature for construction.
However, these cathedrals, every piece of glass, every nail, every wall, unequivocally declared to everyone that it was a product painstakingly crafted by hand.
“I can hardly believe what kind of organization, what kind of strength it must have to construct such a massive and venerable building.”
“Maybe those who built them were not humans, but a bunch of devils.”
The Dwarf muttered under his breath, but his tone was clearly mixed with an emotion known as “jealousy”. Dwarves have always been supremely confident in their metal smelting and forging skills, but the metal structure before them completely shattered their pride as Dwarves, leaving nothing behind.
“This doesn’t seem like the kind of profane creation a devil would make… because it’s so splendid, majestic, and sacred…”
Just as the Bard was immersed in his emotions, a door adorned with a giant Skull Head slammed right in his face.
“Alright… I admit there is a part that is a bit hard to accept…”
Even though Amelia had explained to everyone the reason why the Tribunal uses skulls as their symbol, to most people of Faelun, using a skull as a symbol was still an evil, barbaric one.
Alright, or so it is in most parts of the Milky Way.
“Maybe they come from another world.”
The Mage said indifferently.
“So it’s not strange that our ideas might be biased.”
No one disagreed with this. In fact, such an event had occurred before during the Second Return, when an island suddenly emerged out of nowhere in the sea of the Faelun Continent. Later investigations revealed that the island had been transported to Faelun from another world, and perhaps this city was the same.
“But I dare not imagine how terrifying the Tribunal’s strength is.”
As they ascended the steps and looked at the Massive Macro Cannon ports on both sides of the landing place, the warrior shivered.
“Each cannon looks as if it’s as big as a fortress, I can’t imagine what kind of being could withstand such an attack.”
Perhaps even Silver Moon City couldn’t.
The warrior silently added that thought to himself.
Luckily, this terrifying metallic city was located in the Lost Ground, a fair distance from Deepwater City, the Supreme Forest, and Silver Moon City–they should not have to worry about this thing firing into their cities.
Well, at least that’s what they thought.
What actually happened was another matter.
As they walked through the grand entrance and traversed the opulently decorated corridor, led by the Night Guard to a large door, even the most relaxed Bard tensed up at this point. They could feel a fearsome pressure slowly emanating from behind the door.
“This reminds me of a Giant Dragon I encountered once.”
The Mage wiped the sweat beads from his forehead and spoke in a low voice.
“To be honest, if we really saw a Giant Dragon in here, I wouldn’t be surprised.”
“I just want to get out of here as soon as possible.”
The Elf Ranger was also trembling slightly, partly because she sensed the terrifying pressure, and partly because this place made entirely of metal made her very uncomfortable. There wasn’t the slightest trace of life here, which for an Elf… was definitely not a good place.
Just then, the door slowly opened.
Following that, an angry roar came through.
“Ann, if you cheat again I’m not playing!”
Soon, another girl’s voice came through.
“I didn’t cheat, Mr. Knight!”
“How is that possible? I clearly have Tutu by my side, yet every time I draw cards, I lose. Is that normal?”
“Ah, now you admit you cheated!”
“Can something related to luck be called cheating?”
“If you do it on purpose, then it is cheating!”
Entering the hall, the group saw a tall, Black Armored Warrior playing some sort of card game with a few girls on a high platform filled with godly patterns… Well, this discovery left them somewhat at a loss, as they had imagined they would encounter a cruel Monarch or a terrifying overlord.
Perhaps a dragon.
But the Black Armored Warrior currently arguing with a girl was indeed beyond their expectations, so much so that they didn’t know where to put their hands for a moment.
“Yo, you’ve arrived.”
Fortunately, at this moment Duanmu Huai also noticed their arrival, casually tossing aside his cards to gracefully bow out of the game, while Ann made a face at him, showing great disdain for his act of desertion.
“It’s been a while, Amelia, Luganis, Kasim, and Roxia. I’m glad to see you’re all alright.”
Duanmu Huai stepped down from the platform and greeted everyone, while Amelia hurriedly returned the greeting.
“You as well, Mr. Duanmu. Honestly, back in the Dark Region, we were really worried about your safety…”
“Oh, I apologize for that, but the Dark Region isn’t that big a deal for me, otherwise, I wouldn’t have let you go ahead… Alright, so what’s the deal with these tailgaters following you?”
Duanmu Huai glanced at the people behind Amelia and asked.
“Um, because there was a big explosion a few days ago in Lost Ground, Deepwater City, Supreme Forest, and Silver Moon City were all affected, so the Lords sent representatives to investigate together…”
At this point, Amelia looked cautiously at Duanmu Huai.
“Does this have something to do with you, Mr. Duanmu?”
“Right, I did it.”
Duanmu Huai nodded readily.
“I thought you all knew.”
“I had guessed a bit, but… why did you do it?”
“Oh, it was nothing much.”
Duanmu Huai spread his hands.
“I just did a little bit of purification on this place in the name of the Tribunal.”
“………Huh?”
