Chapter 96: Fighting The Poachers
Hearing Arix’s words, the three little ones got instantly furious, even Sophia’s face turned cold.
"I’m so mad! These bad guys, Arix, let’s go! Let’s go out and beat them up!" Cupid said, baring his teeth in anger.
"No, Cupid, I’ll go. You all go back to my psychic world," Arix replied, shaking his head.
"Why? They’re not like the insectoid crown prince, why should we be afraid of them?" Cupid felt extremely upset.
"Cupid, listen to Arix. We are Psychic Incarnations. If we show up in front of therian, it will reveal that we’re from the Alliance, and that would definitely cause trouble for Arix. You wouldn’t want that, right?" Vita comforted Cupid, gently patting his head.
Only those from the Alliance could have Psychic Incarnations. In the Empire, therian ranked by the purity of their bloodline. The purer the bloodline, the higher the talent. For example, royalty like Cassian, a pureblood of the werewolf clan, had both psychic and physical powers of Supergiant+ Class. But even Cassian could never have a Psychic Incarnation. As for why Empire people didn’t have Psychic Incarnations, scientifically, it was likely due to a missing gene in therian. Only their Creator knew why.
Hearing Vita’s explanation, Cupid could only nod, feeling dejected.
"Arix, be careful. If you can’t handle it, call us out," Cupid reminded Arix, still worried.
"Alright, thanks, Cupid," Arix felt warm inside, smiling and nodding in reassurance.
After the three little ones went back, Arix’s smile faded, his eyes turning icy as he looked outside. Not waiting for the two poachers to come in, Arix walked out directly. He didn’t want to damage Mama Tiger’s cave during the fight.
The two poachers, one tall and one fat, didn’t expect a cub to walk out on its own. They both grinned, like two creeps suddenly seeing a stunning beauty walking towards them.
"Oh my, this fur, those eyes, and that golden emblem. We’re going to make a fortune! If we take it to the auction, we can easily get at least a billion credits," the skinny poacher couldn’t wait, rubbing his hands, ready to grab Arix and live the high life.
"Yeah, but why does she have wings? That doesn’t look much like a Celesterror, more like a therian cub. I remember the Tiger clan, whose patriarch is part of the Empire’s Pontifex, they have wings too," the other poacher, Elio, hesitated.
While the Empire also forbid capturing wild Celesterrors, the punishment wasn’t severe, usually just a fine. But kidnapping therian cubs was a different matter. It wasn’t something that fines or jail time can resolve. At worst, it’s a lifetime of mining on a remote planet, at best, it’s immediate execution.
"What are you afraid of? So what if it’s a therian cub? We’re in the middle of nowhere. Even if we sell it, no one will find out. Don’t forget, the Empire isn’t above selling therian cubs. And think about it, this cub is worth at least a hundred billion credits," the skinny poacher, driven mad by greed, argued, his eyes bloodshot with frenzy.
The fat poacher, initially hesitant due to his concerns, was gradually swayed by the skinny one’s words. His eyes also started to show a crazed glint. Right, if no one found out, he could make a hundred billion credits too. As long as no one discovered it, everything would be fine.
The clarity in the fat poacher’s eyes was gradually replaced by greed, and the abyss of desire devoured his soul.
Arix, who initially only wanted to teach them a lesson, felt a murderous intent rising within. These two wretched individuals were, in some ways, worse than the insectoids. The evil of the insectoids was straightforward; they openly stated their intention to eat you. But these two hid behind a human facade, committing acts worse than beasts.
Letting evil people go was no better than harming others directly. So, Arix didn’t hold back anymore. The terrifying psychic power transformed into two mental spikes, stabbing into the two poachers’ brains.
However, Arix couldn’t bring herself to end their lives. Instead, she destroyed their brain areas, rendering them brainless for life. Only by some future chance might they recover, but by then, Arix was sure they would have suffered enough to atone for their sins.
After dealing with the two, Arix used her psychic power to bind them and tossed them far into the forest, as trash belongs in the trash can. If there was no trash can, then at least throw it far away, out of sight.
After all this, Arix returned to the cave, obediently waiting for Mama Tiger.
Around noon, Mama Tiger finally returned with two preys in her mouth.
As soon as she entered the cave, Mama Tiger saw Arix, seemingly waiting for her, and her heart instantly felt touched.
She put down the preys. Feeling her mouth filthy, she didn’t lick Arix but gently rubbed her massive head against Arix.
"What’s wrong, cub? Did you miss Mama?" Mama Tiger had completely accepted Arix as her own cub, her tone filled with motherly love.
Arix nodded obediently, rubbing her head against Mama Tiger’s leg. Then she howled, "Some bad people came earlier, trying to take us. Luckily, someone I don’t know chased them away."
Hearing this, Mama Tiger was startled. She quickly checked her cubs to make sure none were missing, then sighed in relief. She then howled to Arix, "Cub, wait here for Mama. I’ll go check outside."
After speaking, Mama Tiger darted outside and indeed found human footprints near the cave. Her eyes immediately turned fierce. She sniffed the scent left by the footprints, her gaze full of killing intent. Then she quickly ran into the nearby forest.
"Roar!" Mama Tiger let out a thunderous roar and charged in the direction of the two poachers. When she returned, there were clear traces of blood at the corners of her mouth.
Seeing the blood on Mama Tiger’s mouth, Arix could already guess the misery of the two men. However, she felt no remorse. In this world, you’d eventually face the consequences of your actions. Those who brought it upon themselves deserved no sympathy from Arix.
