Chapter 74: Arix Becoming A Mother
Chapter 74: Arix Becoming A Mother
"Draven, you woke up!" Nyx, who had been watching Draven closely, noticed his fingers moving first.
Everyone’s attention turned to Draven, even Quillan’s obsessive focus shifted to him.
Draven was the first person to recover from a shattered psychic world. Quillan really wanted to study him.
Quillan’s intense gaze scared Draven, who just woke up, and made him... cry.
But instead of hiding behind Nyx, Draven looked straight at Arix.
He ran over and hugged Arix’s arm, crying, "Mom! There’s a weirdo."
Everyone in the dormitory was shocked.
Arix, meeting everyone’s incredulous looks, quickly shook her hand and said, "No, I’m not, he’s lying, I couldn’t have a son this big!"
"Pfft!" Sims, for the first time, didn’t help his Moon Pie. Instead, she laughed without any sympathy. He even said a little gleefully, "I didn’t think I’d have another ’little Moon Pie’ so soon, hah!"
"It seems the psychic world’s shattering affected him, maybe he has amnesia." Quillan said, rubbing his chin.
Nyx’s heart broke when he heard that. He had chased Draven for ten years before marrying him.
’What if Draven also thinks I’m a weirdo? Will he not want me anymore?’ While Nyx was lost in thought, Arix looked helplessly at the two old folks watching the show.
Sighing, Arix decided to solve the problem on her own.
She looked at Draven, who was clinging to her arm and timidly watching everyone.
She hadn’t even thought of what to say, but her mind was full of complaints.
First of all, a grown man grabbing a young girl’s arm wasn’t appropriate.
’And mistaking a stranger for his mom? That’s not just amnesia, that’s being dumb, right?’ Arix thought to herself, eyes rolling.
And Nyx was so jealous of Arix right now that he was about to cry.
"Mom?" Draven said innocently, blinking at Arix.
Arix’s mouth twitched, and she forced a twisted smile, "Sir, I’m a fresh man in college, I can’t have a son your age, so can you let go of me?"
Draven’s subconscious was telling him it was impossible, but he felt a motherly vibe from this girl.
Feeling more and more wronged, Draven’s tears started to flow even more, looking like a child abandoned by a cruel mother.
"What the heck!" Arix was about to lose it and urgently called for Vita in the psychic world.
"Vita, come quickly! Draven seems to have gone dumb and insists I’m his mom!" Arix said, on the verge of a breakdown.
Vita, seeing through Arix’s perspective in the psychic world, could only sympathetically say, "His consciousness was drained by cosmic energy. He should recover in a while."
"Why does he think I’m his mom? Do I look like his mother, or do I have some motherly aura?" Arix asked, exasperated.
"Hmm, it’s hard to say. Maybe because we used psychic power to save him and took care of him for three days, he felt a motherly warmth from you," Vita said, chuckling.
Arix was speechless.
Thankfully, Draven’s husband, Nyx, couldn’t stand it anymore.
Nyx walked over, knocked Draven out, and held him tightly, asking Arix awkwardly, "Miss Kering, what’s wrong with Draven?"
Arix, looking relieved, said, "His consciousness is damaged. He’ll be fine after some rest."
"That’s good. I’ll take him away now. Goodbye, Miss Kering, Master Sims, Director Quillan," Nyx said, sighing in relief. Then Nyx quickly left with Draven, as if someone might try to take him away.
"Ha-ha!"
Quillan and Sims laughed again, teasing Arix about her awkward situation.
"Hey, are we still making the psychic healing potion? I might forget later," Arix said, glaring at the two old men and threatening through gritted teeth.
Their laughter stopped instantly, like being strangled.
Quillan, reacting the most, hurriedly said, "Yes, yes, let’s go, the lab is ready, we just need you."
"I’ll help too," Sims said, interested in the psychic power healing potion, and followed them to the Fifth Legion’s research institute.
Arix then spent her time in the research institute, working with top experts from the Alliance military research academy. They spent three days in heated debates and seven days frantically making potions.
The three days of arguments were about the potion formula Arix provided. Except for the Insectoid Core, which remained unchanged, everyone had different opinions on the proportions of the ingredients and the potion formula. No one would agree with the others.
Finally, they decided to hold a competition. Quillan chose the formula with the best effectiveness and cost-efficiency, settling the matter.
During the seven days of frantic potion-making, Arix didn’t participate directly. Instead, she focused on providing the chemists with ’Arix Crystal’ of Red and Green.
The Arix Crystal was extracted from the Insectoid Core by Cupid and Vita. After some experiments, the researchers discovered that only Arix could produce this core, so they named it after her.
Arix suggested adding "Red" and "Green" to differentiate between the two types of cores, so they wouldn’t both be called Arix Crystal.
Arix watched, lost in thought, as Vita and Cupid, nourished by an abundance of Insectoid Cores, transformed into little tigers. She silently marveled at the scene, feeling a bit distracted.
A few days ago, Vita and the others suddenly turned into little tigers with wings.
Arix was really shocked.
She thought her Psychic Incarnations was just three pillars, but those pillars was actually like eggshells. Only until the other day, Vita and the others were truly born.
Arix covered her face with her hand. When she put it down, her eyes were shining like stars. Without saying a word, Arix summoned Sophia, who wasn’t working. Sure enough, what appeared in front of her was an adorable little tiger.
The little tiger had a pair of small wings and yellow fur with black stripes. The most noticeable thing was the ancient totem on her forehead, which made the chubby tiger head look graceful and mysterious.
Under the pair of half-round ears, her eyes, lined as if with gold eyeliner, were silver-grey. She was looking at Arix with extreme disdain.
"Ah, no matter how many times I look, she’s still too cute," Arix was lost in Sophia’s adorable appearance and didn’t care if the little one was annoyed. She just wanted to bury her face in Sophia’s fur.
That was an adorable idea, but reality was harsh.
Sophia pushed Arix’s face away with her front paws and warned her, "Arix, if you keep doing weird things to me, I won’t teach you anything about mechas anymore."
"What?"
Arix looked up, puzzled, and repeated, "Mechas, you say?"
"Yes, don’t you want to learn mecha the most?" Sophia was relieved when Arix finally stopped.
"Sophia, you can build mecha?" Arix asked, full of doubt.
She couldn’t believe it. There was no way Psychic Incarnation knew something she didn’t.
"I can’t now," Sophia said, as if it was obvious.
Arix was silent for a moment, then laughed.
The little one was too cute. Even boasting, Sophia did it in such a fresh and unique way without being annoying.
"Alright, alright, I won’t touch you," Arix said, fondly patting Sophia’s little forehead.
Even though Arix got what she wanted, Sophia wasn’t happy. She felt like her abilities were being doubted.
"Hmph!"
Sophia couldn’t be bothered to argue with her silly master and went back to the psychic world.
"Too bad," Arix sighed. Then she looked at the other two cuties with eager eyes.
All three little tigers looked exactly the same, except for the color of the totem on their foreheads.
Sophia’s totem was blue, Vita’s was green, and Cupid’s was red.
Arix’s heart melted as she looked at the adorable little tigers.
"Too bad Vita and Cupid are so busy," Arix said as she watched the two little ones, reluctantly shifting her gaze away.
