Chapter 52: Back To Training

"How are you feeling? Any discomfort?" Sims asked with a sigh of relief when he saw Arix finally open her eyes.

"I’m fine. Let’s continue," Arix replied with a smile, shaking her head.

She had no intention of revealing anything about the trio and what had happened.

Her psychic power manifesting itself was so absurd that even she found it hard to believe.

Also, her psychic abilities were already on a Supergiant+ level, which was extraordinary in itself.

If others knew her psychic power had its own consciousness, it wouldn’t bring her applause and joy but rather suspicion and fear—and ultimately greed.

"Why does she have it and I don’t?"

"What makes her luckier than me?"

"If I kill her, will I get it too?"

Arix had seen many people before who became victims because they were envied and betrayed. Such individuals often trusted others too easily, revealing everything without any caution.

In short, human nature is complicated. If you can’t find balance, you’ll inevitably fall into the abyss and be shattered to pieces.

Arix sighed in her heart. Refocusing, she carefully followed Sims’ method of removing impurities from the medical ingredients in front of her.

She used her psychic power to cleanse impurities from each necessary mineral. But unlike making the Planet-Class potion, she couldn’t simply wait to mix everything after brewing the solution.

Instead, Arix needed to add the medical herbs at different stages of the brewing process based on time and heat.

Interrupting the process or getting the timing wrong would mean the entire potion was ruined.

Arix crushed the medical herbs needed and put them into a test tube.

While brewing, she used her psychic power to separate the impurities from the medicinal juice and then wrapped them in her psychic energy before removing them.

She repeated the process with the next medical ingredient, crushing and adding it to remove any impurities.

Finally, Arix placed the last piece of medical mineral on the table into the mixture, cleaning its impurities as well.

Only then did she exhale deeply.

She poured the solution into a potion vial and sealed it. This marked her first-ever Star-Class healing potion.

Sims had been watching Arix the whole time. Initially surprised, he eventually became numb to his Moon Pie’s talents.

To make a Star-Class potion on her first try—if word got out, it would shake not just the Alliance but the Empire too.

And Arix was still so young, just a first-year student. Making a Star-Class potion at such a young age... Sims was at a loss for words, unsure whether she was a genius or a monster.

Arix had no idea what Sims was thinking. She beamed brightly and handed him the potion she had made.

"Check it out. Does this potion look like a success?" she asked.

Seeing the adorable and well-behaved Arix, Sims’s heart almost melted. He stopped worrying—no matter how brilliant she was, she was always his apprentice and his granddaughter. He was confident Arix would always show him respect.

With that in mind, Sims smiled affectionately at Arix and said, "Alright, let me take a look."

Sims took the potion and placed it on the analyzer, pressing the activation button.

As the analyzer’s startup light turned on, "Analyzing in progress" appeared on the screen.

After ten seconds, there was a ding as the analyzer stopped. Line by line, the screen displayed the results:

Potion Name: Star-Class Healer

Purity: 95%

Efficacy Utilization: 96%

Impurity Retention: 5%

Quality Rating: 80/100

Looking at the unsurprising results, Sims was both thrilled and overwhelmed by Arix’s excellence—sweet torture, indeed.

Turning to Arix with a serious expression, Sims said, "I have something important to tell you, and you must remember it."

"Alright, I’m all ears," Arix nodded solemnly.

Though Sims trusted her, he reiterated, "In the future, don’t make potions in front of anyone. Also, until you can fully protect yourself, say that any potion you’ve made was actually made by me. Got it?"

Arix understood the concern behind Sims’s words, and her face showed deep gratitude and respect. "Yes, I understand. Thank you."

"That’s my Moon Pie," Sims said, ruffling her hair with a bit of reluctance. "I’ve taught you everything. This afternoon, head back to the training base. When classes start at the academy, make sure you study the videos I sent you. Now, go back and rest."

"Okay, see you later, Grandpa Sims." Arix hugged Sims with a bit of reluctance before heading toward the Chemistry Department exit.

Sims silently watched her departing figure. Maybe it was just his aging eyes, but he felt like he’d witnessed the birth of a Chemistry Star.

Shaking his head with a laugh, Sims went back to brewing another healing potion.

Outside the Chemistry Department, Arix felt a pang of longing for her roommates and decided she might as well head back to the training base now.

First, she said goodbye to Kellan. Then she returned to the corps hospital and packed her things.

After changing into her training uniform, she bid farewell to the nurses and doctors there.

"Make sure to take care of that arm! If anything goes wrong, come find me."

"I’m not going to say you’re welcome back!"

"See you—no, I mean bye-bye!"

Arix smiled at the playful nurses and doctors. She gave them one final wave and left the corps hospital with a grin on her face.

Back at the training base, Arix passed the checkpoint at the entrance with her digital bracelet. While heading to her dormitory, she noticed the students and instructors of the Hecaris Military Academy training on the field.

"Look, Arix is back!"

"I heard she got injured fighting insectoids, so she was sent to the hospital."

"She’s amazing! If we faced an insectoid, we’d probably just run for our lives."

Noticing their students’ distraction, the instructors frowned. Just as they were about to shout at the trainees, they spotted Arix returning.

"Arix, come here!" Ortiz called out.

Arix stiffened and immediately replied, "Yes, sir!"

She quickly ran up to the instructor, saluted, and asked a bit nervously, "Sir?"

Ortiz glared at her with a stern expression, looking every bit like a grim reaper.

Arix was anxious under his gaze. She stole a few glances at Ortiz but quickly looked away when she saw his expression.

"Arix," Ortiz said seriously, reaching out to grip her shoulder.

Even though his hand wasn’t heavy, Arix felt an almost unbearable weight.

"Welcome back," he said in his deep, booming voice.

Arix was stunned for a moment, then looked up quickly to see the instructor smiling back at her.

Her eyes crinkled into crescent moons, and she couldn’t help but smile. "Thank you, sir."
