Chapter 202: Dimensional Training Field No. 100

Arix nodded and placed her hand on it, quickly filling the container with psychic power in mere seconds. Her talent and strength made the officer feel uneasy, like seeing something precious being risked unnecessarily.

"First stage passed. For the second stage, go left for 435 meters to No. 100 Dimensional Training Field."

"Thank you," Arix said with a smile, then bid farewell to Deanna and the others before heading to the second stage.

The selection officer watched Arix walk away, shook his head, and sighed before turning to the next student, "Name?"

Meanwhile, Arix made her way toward Training Field No. 100. She was surprised to see that each Dimensional Training Field was guarded by an Alliance soldier and a military medic. Even more surprising was that at least a hundred Dimensional Training Fields were open today.

Every time a student entered a Dimensional Training Field, the door would close and stay shut until the student either passed or was eliminated.

Just then, a door opened, and a severely injured and unconscious student, covered in blood, was teleported out. The Alliance soldier and medic at the door immediately began treating the injured student.

Seeing the student’s body covered in wounds as if torn by some wild animal, Arix’s heart sank, and she felt a wave of seriousness wash over her.

She remembered this student had passed the first stage just a few minutes before her. ’How difficult is the second stage to cause such injuries in such a short time?’

Arix stood still, watching as the student was treated and taken away before continuing to Training Field No. 100. Like the others, it was guarded by an Alliance soldier and a medic.

As she approached, the soldier asked coldly, "Name?"

"Arix Kering, sir," she said, saluting.

The soldier registered her name in the opticomputer and opened the door to the Dimensional Training Field. "The map has been sent to your opticomputer. There is no time limit. Reach the endpoint alive to pass," the soldier said seriously.

"Understood," Arix nodded, taking the task to heart. Just as she was about to step inside, the soldier added, "Arix Kering, be careful."

Arix paused, thanked him, and stepped into the second stage without hesitation.

As soon as she entered, she was engulfed in complete darkness. Arix frowned and used her psychic power to form a protective barrier around herself. Then she closed her eyes and used her psychic power to scan her surroundings.

When her mental awareness revealed the environment, Arix was stunned. She found herself in a dark, common cave, but it was filled with countless huge, fat snakes.

As soon as she noticed them, the snakes noticed her too. Instantly, numerous glowing vertical pupils, like stars in the dark, lit up the cave, all focusing on the only source of warmth—Arix.

Arix stood unsteadily, catching her breath. She glanced up and locked eyes with the giant snakes.

Before she could react, the snakes lunged at her.

Fearful, Arix gulped and leapt to dodge the attack.

She quickly opened her opticomputer. After finding the cave’s exit, she turned and bolted.

The tasty prey was on the move, and the giant snakes slithered after her.

One by one, they opened their huge mouths and sped towards Arix.

Fortunately, snakes, without legs, couldn’t match the speed of a running human. Arix soon put some distance between them.

Just as she started to feel a bit safe, she saw a giant snake, which had lagged behind, suddenly leap in front of her.

"Oh no, I forgot snakes can jump!"

She looked back and saw the snakes coiling their bodies. Using their tails like springs, they launched themselves at her.

"Hey! You can’t do that! That’s basically cheating!" Arix yelled.

The snakes didn’t care about her thoughts. They raised their tails and whipped them towards the hysterical human.

Arix ducked and rolled forward just in time.

The thick snake tail slammed into the hard cave wall, kicking up a lot dust.

Sitting nearby, Arix stared in horror at the wall, which now had a deep dent. Her pupils widened in fear.

She sprang up and continued running towards the cave exit.

The snakes, frustrated by their inability to catch her, grew angrier.

Now, they weren’t just hungry. They were out for blood.

Their venomous fangs extended, releasing toxic venom that turned into deadly projectiles aimed at Arix.

If they couldn’t catch her, they’d poison her.

The dense venomous attacks filled the cave. Even if Arix tried to dodge, she couldn’t avoid them all.

Her psychic power shield took the hits, but the venom started to corrode it.

Arix checked her map; the exit was near. She repaired her psychic shield and kept running.

Only a fool would stay and fight here.

She didn’t know how long she had been running, but finally, she saw light ahead.

Overjoyed, she sped up and finally stepped out of the cave.

After running a few hundred meters more, Arix stopped. She wasn’t going to run anymore.

Turning around, she smiled kindly at the giant snakes. "You must be tired from chasing me. Now it’s my turn to repay you."

As she spoke, Arix raised her hands. Instantly, her psychic power formed countless deadly arrows in the air.

With a swift motion, the arrows shot towards the snake horde like a storm.

"Hiss!"

The snakes hissed and screeched in pain. The leading ones fell, dead and wounded.

But the ones in the back quickly replaced the fallen.

Seeing the snakes refuse to back down, Arix knew it was time to bail. With one more attack, she turned and fled.

Her goal wasn’t to kill these beasts. It was to survive and reach the end.

She still had about 25 kilometers to cover.

Arix ran, dodging attacks from other animals along the way.

Initially, she hadn’t planned to fight any of them, but the snake chase had attracted more beasts. Now, a whole zoo’s worth of creatures was on her tail.

She glanced back and saw an array of animals chasing her. Among them were even alpacas and capybaras, which left her utterly speechless. ’What were these herbivores doing in the mix?’

As time went on, the group of beasts grew larger and stronger.

Arix was starting to struggle. She wasn’t hurt, but dodging attacks while running was exhausting. Despite her good physical condition, she felt short of breath and tightness in her chest.

She needed to put and end to this.

Arix bit her lip. She had to use her ultimate move.

Having decided, Arix dove into a bush. The beasts followed.

But once inside, Arix vanished.

The beasts were baffled and searched the area but couldn’t find her.

"Roar! Roar! Roar!" The beasts circled in frustration. Some even started digging, thinking she had gone underground.

They searched for a long time but couldn’t find her.

Just as they were about to give up, a small winged tiger appeared out of nowhere. She lifted her cute paw and pointed forward, meowing softly.

The nearby beasts, not the smartest bunch, quickly understood the cub’s meaning.

The human had run that way!

"Roar! Roar!" The beasts roared excitedly and chased in the direction the cub pointed.

Left behind, the small tiger, who was actually Arix, finally sighed in relief.

Her legs went weak, and she collapsed onto the grass, not wanting to move.

What a nightmare! She hadn’t expected the second challenge to be a deadly chase.

No wonder the previous student got bitten so badly...

Amen!
