Chapter 197: Bryndel’s Visit

Right now, the New Psychic Ware Association is surrounded by military Levs and warships due to the Awakened Ware incident.

Many of the poorer civilians from the Alliance had never witnessed such a scene. They stayed far back, secretly observing the spectacle.

Fortunately for them, the main gate of the Psychic Ware Association had been broken, giving them a clear view of everything happening inside the hall.

Inside the grand hall, the president of the New Psychic Ware Association, Talrin, was warmly serving tea to each visitor.

Quillan, the representative of the visitors, politely accepted a teacup. He smiled as he took a sip, but his eyebrows immediately furrowed from the bitterness. Calmly putting down the teacup, Quillan thought to himself, ’That’s some real bad tea. Is he unhappy with us?’

However, he quickly dismissed the thought. ’A president who can’t even afford to fix the gate probably doesn’t have bad intentions. Maybe he’s just broke.’

With that thought, Quillan smiled again and politely addressed Talrin, "President Talrin, I believe you know why we’re here today. What do you think?"

Talrin nodded and replied, "For the sake of Arix, I agree with the matter. But..." He trailed off, looking troubled.

Seeing this, Quillan smiled understandingly and said, "If you have any difficulties, please let us know. We will do our best to help."

Talrin pretended to be shy and said, "This is a bit embarrassing."

"Not at all. We would feel uncomfortable taking you and Arix’s research results for free," Quillan replied politely.

Encouraged, Talrin continued, "Now that you said so... Speaking of this Awakened Ware, I’ve spent almost 20 years on it. I won’t talk about the hardships, but as you know, our New Psychic Ware Association is struggling. So, I hope you can agree to three conditions from me in exchange for the research results."

Talrin hinted with his eyes at the nearly collapsing association, showcasing his month-long effort of not rebuilding to earn some sympathy.

Thinking this, Talrin’s lips curled slightly.

Quillan lowered his eyes and thought for a moment, then said hesitantly, "Could you please tell me your conditions? I am not the decision-maker of the Alliance and cannot decide alone."

"Of course, my conditions are very simple. The first condition is that I hope the Alliance officially recognizes the existence of the New Psychic Ware Association," Talrin said passionately.

He was tired of people calling his association a fake one.

Quillan raised his eyebrows in surprise. He had expected the first condition to be about money. Instead, it was just official recognition from the Alliance. This condition was not only reasonable but surprisingly simple.

"President Talrin, I can agree to this condition on behalf of the Alliance. However, you understand that once you are officially recognized, you’ll also be bound by official regulations. Are you still willing?" Quillan looked directly at Talrin, his tone serious.

Talrin nodded confidently, a smile on his face. "The greater the restriction, the greater the protection. Being bound by the Alliance is an honor."

"Alright, what’s the next condition?" Quillan asked, seeing Talrin’s swift agreement.

"The second condition is..." Talrin glanced around his association before continuing, "Rebuild the New Psychic Ware Association here using the best building materials."

"Agreed! What’s the third condition?" Quillan replied quickly, feeling almost embarrassed by how reasonable and simple the conditions were.

For the third condition, Talrin’s expression turned serious. "The third condition is for the Alliance to establish a Psychic Incarnation Protection Law, granting them equal human rights."

Hearing this, Quillan’s expression finally changed. This was a significant request, one he couldn’t agree to directly.

"President Talrin, I will report your request to the president. I also hope this condition can be fulfilled," Quillan said firmly, looking sharply at Talrin.

Talrin met Quillan’s gaze and smiled, "Thank you, Director Quillan."

After reaching an agreement, Talrin handed over a few Vita Crystals and a blueprint to Quillan. Once he had seen off the Alliance representative with a smile, Bryndel arrived at the new Psychic Ware Association, fashionably late.

"Master? What brings you here today?" Talrin seemed unsurprised by Bryndel’s arrival.

"Just checking to see if you’ve starved to death," Bryndel said, rolling his eyes at his troublesome apprentice.

"Hehe, you always joke around," Talrin said warmly, inviting Bryndel in and serving him tea.

Bryndel eyed the tea suspiciously, then looked silently at his apprentice.

Seeing his master’s murderous look, Talrin swallowed nervously and smiled sheepishly, "Master, I already knew why you’re here. So just get comfortable. President Quillan and I have already reached an agreement."

Bryndel snorted arrogantly, his gaze sharp. "You know what I want, right?"

"Of course, Master. I have it ready for you," Talrin replied quickly, a stark contrast to his earlier hesitation with Quillan. He pulled out a Space Button.

Bryndel’s eyes gleamed with satisfaction at his Talrin’s promptness. He reached for the Space Button, but Talrin held onto it.

"Hmm?" Bryndel’s look turned dangerous, ready to unleash his frustration.

Talrin swallowed nervously. "Master, you’re here on behalf of the old Psychic Ware Association, right? I have three small conditions. Can you agree to them on their behalf?"

Bryndel raised an eyebrow, a smile playing on his lips. "Go ahead, tell me."

Sensing a chance, Talrin’s enthusiasm grew. He moved behind Bryndel and began massaging his shoulders.

Once Bryndel relaxed, Talrin cautiously said, "Master, I’m thinking of you. My first condition is that the old Psychic Ware Association grants you freedom. I know you’ll be free eventually, but until then, I can’t rest easy."

"That’s a good and sweet condition. What’s the next one?" Bryndel asked, enjoying the massage.

"The second condition is money. I don’t need much, just 10 billion astrocredits," Talrin stated calmly.

Bryndel was taken aback, turning to stare at his apprentice. "10 billion? That’s a bit too much... But alright, make it 20 billion. Half for me."

Talrin laughed, agreeing, "Alright, 20 billion it is."

"And the third condition?" Bryndel asked, now in a good mood.

"I want both Arix and me to have a chance to study in the Knowledge Tower for a month," Talrin said firmly.

Bryndel, who had been enjoying the massage, suddenly froze. He quickly pushed Talrin away and moved to the opposite couch.

"Are you trying to get me killed?" he shouted. "If I suggest that to the Psychic Ware Association, they’ll execute me immediately!"

The Knowledge Tower was the most guarded place of the Psychic Ware Association, containing all the ancient blueprints. It was their most prized asset, the source of their power.

Even the elders could only enter once a year for three days. Asking for a month was beyond insane.

"No one in the Alliance would dare harm you now. Besides, it’s not just for me, it’s for Arix too," Talrin said sincerely.

Hearing Arix’s name, Bryndel hesitated for a long time before finally gritting his teeth and saying, "Fine, I’ll try."

"Oh, thank you, Master! I knew you were the best!" Talrin exclaimed, delighted. He started massaging Bryndel’s shoulders again.

This time, Bryndel was scared. He quickly dodged Talrin’s hands and impatiently waved him off, saying, "Stay away from me."

Talrin smiled helplessly and sat down on the opposite sofa, waiting for good news from his master.

Bryndel frowned as he sent the three conditions to President Zorix of the Psychic Ware Association.
