Chapter 182: Vita and Sylvana

Chapter 182: Vita and Sylvana

Arix had a sudden brainwave: what if she set up Sylvana with Cupid and his friends? The thought of Sylvana and Cupid together made her grin a little too mischievously.

"Sylvana, my dad’s safe now. How about checking out my psychic world and meeting Cupid and the others?" Arix asked, a sly grin on her face.

Sylvana hesitated, clearly shy, but after a moment, she nodded.

Seeing her agree, Arix was thrilled but worried she’d change her mind. "Great! Jump in and have fun! I won’t bother you guys."

"Okay, thank you," Sylvana responded softly. She then transformed into psychic energy and entered Arix’s psychic world.

Even though Arix promised not to interfere, she couldn’t help but sneak in after her.

Fortunately, her psychic world was vast enough for her to hide and observe without being noticed.

Inside, Vita was deep in medical books from the outside world, Sophia was engrossed in assembling a mecha model, and Cupid was wandering around, looking bored.

Cupid noticed Sylvana first.

"Who are you?" Cupid asked, tilting his head, feeling oddly drawn to her but unsure if she was a threat.

Arix hadn’t expected Cupid to be the first to encounter Sylvana. Though Cupid was cute, he could be unpredictable. Worried Cupid might scare off their potential new friend, Arix subtly used her psychic powers to alert Vita and Sophia.

Vita and Sophia noticed Sylvana thanks to Arix’s hint and paused what they were doing. Sophia immediately activated her blue psychic power, forming a transparent cage around the newcomer.

This wasn’t how Arix had imagined things would go.

Even Vita, usually so kind, stood back with a cold expression.

Arix’s heart raced, ready to jump in, but Sylvana effortlessly broke through Sophia’s psychic barrier. She sighed with relief and continued to watch.

Realizing their attack had failed, Vita and Sophia exchanged nervous glances. They understood Sylvana was beyond their ability to handle.

Vita decided to try a more diplomatic approach and politely asked, "Excuse me, who are you, and how can you get in here?"

Sylvana didn’t say a word; she just gazed at the three kids with her beautiful green eyes, filled with a deep sadness.

Vita and Sophia were puzzled by her expression. Sophia, feeling guilty for her earlier harshness, huffed anxiously, "Why are you sad? We’re not going to hurt you."

Hearing Sophia’s familiar, stubborn tone made Sylvana even sadder. Tears began to well up in her eyes.

Cupid, who had already taken a liking to Sylvana, became concerned seeing her on the verge of tears. He started circling her, gently nuzzling her and comforting her with a soft howl, "Don’t be sad. They’re not bad guys; they won’t hurt you."

Hidden away, Arix felt a surge of pride for Cupid and silently gave him a thumbs up. ’Cupid really was really a kind baby,’ Arix thought. She decided to reward him with a box of Insectoid Cores when they got back.

Sylvana, touched by Cupid’s kindness, managed a small smile.

Encouraged by his support, she finally spoke, her voice soft, "I’m Sylvana. I’m back."

No sooner had Sylvana spoken than Arix felt her psychic world tremble, as if experiencing an earthquake. She was stunned.

The tremors stopped quickly, and the psychic world stabilized.

Arix breathed a sigh of relief, but when she looked at Cupid and the others, she was utterly shocked.

The three little ones had disappeared, replaced by four young adults. Now, these young men and women were shyly sharing their feelings, with the red-haired young man—Cupid—clinging to the young woman, Sylvana, not wanting to let go.

The display of affection overwhelmed Arix, leaving her feeling a bit lost. ’Where did my adorable, beautiful, well-behaved little ones go?’

Her confusion was short-lived as she was suddenly lifted by a psychic power, landing in front of the group.

The blue-haired young woman, looking annoyed, asked, "Arix? What were you doing hiding there?"

Arix quickly realized this was Sophia, now in a more mature form. Even though she recognized her, she didn’t dare upset the often petty Sophia. She quickly put on a flattering smile, "I was just checking on everyone."

Sophia rolled her eyes, clearly not buying her excuse, but she then ignored her.

Arix, unfazed by his attitude, looked at them with wide eyes, taking in their new appearances.

The other two young men were identical except for their hair colors, and there was another a graceful young woman, whom Arix guessed was Sylvana.

The red-haired young man, Cupid, beamed with pride and showed off to Arix, "Arix, don’t you think we look better now?"

Arix, staring at the four stunningly beautiful faces, nodded enthusiastically.

Vita, with his dark green hair, smiled and gently patted Arix’s head. His cheeks flushed slightly as he looked warmly at Sylvana, asking, "Sylvana, doesn’t Arix look just like us?"

That sounded strange to Arix because in her mind, she was like their mother. They should look like her, not she like them.

Sylvana was in a white dress. She looked at Arix with a warm expression. "Of course, Arix is like us," she said gently. "In a way, she’s our child."

Arix was stunned. "Wow, I always thought of you all as my babies, but you see me as your kid?"

Cupid’s eyes sparkled as he looked at Sylvana. "So, Arix is our baby?" he exclaimed with excitement.

Sophia smirked, lifting her chin. "Too bad she’s not as smart as I am," she said with pride, but there was no disagreement from Cupid.

Arix felt a bit frustrated at first, but after a moment’s thought, she realized they weren’t wrong. In some ways, she really was a result of their love. She bit her lip and covered her face, trying to hide her mixed feelings.

In just one day, Arix suddenly found herself with two dads and two moms. But as time passed, she felt more at ease.

Despite regaining their memories from ancient times, Cupid and the others remained the same.

Vita was still mature and composed, Sophia stayed proud and sharp-tongued, and Cupid kept his cheerful and playful nature.

Sylvana, though, felt like a new addition, more like a mother figure.

Arix enjoyed Sylvana’s gentle touch on her head and thought having another mom wasn’t so bad. It would be perfect if Sylvana could feel more like a sister, though.

After spending some time together, Arix decided to leave.

Sylvana and Cupid had just reunited, and they probably wanted some time alone. Plus, Arix had her sick father to worry about.

When Arix’s consciousness returned to her body, she opened her eyes and saw Thaddeus lying on the bed. The golden cocoon around him was thinning out, almost completely absorbed.

She used her psychic power to check Thaddeus’s condition. After confirming everything was fine, she sat down patiently to wait.

It wasn’t that she didn’t want to inform others, but the method she used for treatment was unconventional. It seemed easier to keep it a secret and come up with an excuse later than to explain it all now.

...

Outside the treatment room, Matis was fuming. He punched the wall, breaking off chunks of stone, which seemed to ease his anger a little.

Marlone, seeing the damage, nervously patted Matis’ back. "Let’s not worry about them right now. We can deal with it later," he said.

Zeta was also upset. He hadn’t expected the Empire’s Dragon clan to stoop so low.

They spread false rumors online about Admiral Thaddeus’s death and even paid influencers to get their fans to mourn him.

Some people who initially doubted the news were convinced by the fake data, and now the entire Alliance was in chaos, especially the Fifth Legion’s territory, which was gripped by panic.

In the past, when the Dragon clan acted out of line, the Alliance typically opted for peace and only gave them a stern talking-to. But this time, they’d really crossed a line.

Thaddeus was a hero, and he didn’t deserve that.

Zeta quickly had the Alliance debunk the rumors. He gathered evidence of the Dragon clan’s false accusations, planning to present it to the Empire and demand some answers.

In the past, they didn’t have much sway in the Empire, but now the Alliance held the technology of the Arix Crystal, which gave them more leverage. While they couldn’t shut down supplies to the whole Empire, they could definitely make things hard for the Dragon clan.
