Chapter 151: The New Arix
Chapter 151: The New Arix
The instant the souls merged, Arix woke up on the sacrificial altar.
Still shaken from her recent despair, she took a moment to gather herself.
The priest nearby didn’t seem to notice Arix’s distant gaze. With a detached expression, he said, "Follow me."
Arix, still dazed, looked at him for a moment before her eyes regained focus. She silently nodded and then glanced back at the bustling crowd below the altar. A sense of relief washed over her as she saw their joyous faces.
This world was at peace, and the people were safe.
Arix smiled softly before turning away and leaving the sacrificial altar. She quietly followed the priest to a room.
He opened a wardrobe and said, "Go inside and transform into your human form. Do you have clothes?"
"Thank you, pontifex. Yes, I do," Arix replied politely.
"Good, go on in. I’ll wait outside," he said, his attitude softening at Arix’s politeness.
Arix nodded and entered the wardrobe room alone. It was simple, with just a changing area and a full-length mirror. She stood before the mirror, silently looking at her tiger form.
"Cupid, Vita, Sophia," she called out in her mind.
This time, they responded quickly. Cupid appeared first, worriedly asking, "Arix, what’s wrong? You seem upset."
Vita and Sophia, sensing Arix’s distress, also emerged from the psychic world. Seeing the three small tigers sitting in a row, Arix’s nose tingled, and tears streamed down her face.
Her vulnerability startled Cupid and the others. They quickly surrounded her, even Sophia awkwardly trying to comfort her. "Don’t cry. Tell us who hurt you, and we’ll beat them up," Sophia offered.
"Yeah! Whoever dares to bully Arix, we’ll fight them!" Cupid said, waving her paws angrily.
Vita said nothing, gently patting Arix, but the murderous glint in her eyes was the most frightening of all.
Arix, feeling deeply moved, nuzzled the three little tigers and said, her voice choked with emotion, "No one dared to bully me. I just missed you all so much."
Her affectionate words made the three tigers blush instantly.
Cupid, in particular, started spinning in circles out of happiness, moving so fast that he became a blur.
Sophia turned her head away, her face flushed, and said with a proud tone, "Next time you miss us, just tell us directly. No need to hold it in."
Vita, sensing that Arix might be crying for another reason, chose to stay silent and not spoil the moment.
Arix nodded, wiped her tears, and changed the topic with a smile, "I just received the blessing, and now I can transform back. Cupid, do you want to see?"
The three little tigers exchanged glances, their eyes shining with excitement as they all said in unison, "We do!"
Arix’s lips curved into a gentle smile as she looked at the three little ones and said, "Wait for me a bit." Then, she turned and went into the small cubicle.
"What do you think Arix will look like when she gets her human form back?" Cupid asked, feeling both bored and curious, glancing at her two companions.
"No idea, but she definitely won’t look the same as before. After all, her therian genes have been unlocked," Sophia replied with her usual calmness.
"I bet she’ll have features of the Tiger clan, like silver hair as bright as the moon and blue eyes like the sky," Vita said with a soft smile.
"Well, that’s a given for the Tiger clan. No need to guess that. I’m wondering if Arix’s ears will turn into beast ears. That would be so cute!" Cupid wiggled her little butt in excitement.
Sophia and Vita imagined it for a moment and then both swallowed, giving a unanimous response, "That would be nice! Tiger ears are the cutest."
Their imaginations went a bit further, and they all ended up picturing a flat chest.
The three little ones exchanged glances, instantly understanding each other’s thoughts. Then they all sighed in unison.
"Arix will definitely still be flat-chested," Cupid sighed regretfully.
"It would be nice if she had a bit of Luna Amethyst’s genes," Sophia said, thinking of the woman with a generous bosom, feeling a bit envious on Arix’s behalf.
"Flat is good too, at least it won’t be a burden in a fight," Vita tried to console with positive words.
"True, at least she saves on fabric," Sophia added, trying to suppress her guilty conscience.
"And she won’t have to worry about being squished while sleeping," Cupid said, tears streaming down her face like a waterfall, sympathetically.
Just then, as the three little ones were still chatting, the door to the small cubicle opened.
The three little tigers immediately straightened up, sitting obediently with innocent, pure looks on their faces, staring at the cubicle.
When Arix walked out, their eyes widened in shock.
’Who is this little fairy?’
Arix, rarely seen in a long dress, had her silver-moon-colored hair cascading down like cloud, elegantly tied up with a noble ribbon. She looked both graceful and coldly stunning.
Her blue eyes, like ice crystals, seemed to ripple like water, captivating anyone with a single glance, like the deep-sea mermen.
Her nose, firm and straight, had the delicate beauty of a woman with a hint of masculine boldness.
Her slightly thin, soft cherry lips were a vivid gem-like red, more delicate and bright than the petals of the most beautiful rose.
"How do I look? Pretty?" Arix asked, her fair little face smiling.
Her big eyes curved slightly, like the afternoon sun, dazzling enough to make one feel a bit dazed.
Arix’s stunning appearance, paired with her melodious voice, left the three little ones completely enchanted. They gazed at her, practically dropping their jaws.
"Even if she’s a bit flat, she’s so beautiful that it doesn’t matter," Cupid said, holding her face with both paws, eyes full of red hearts.
"Yeah, definitely," Vita added, blushing and coughing lightly.
"Right," Sophia stammered, her face turning red.
"What are you whispering about?" Arix asked, looking at the three little ones suspiciously, sensing they weren’t up to any good.
Cupid, Vita, and Sophia exchanged guilty glances and then shook their heads vigorously, denying in unison, "Nothing, nothing at all. We weren’t talking."
"Really? Maybe I misheard. Cupid, Vita, Sophia, go back to the psychic world. I need to go out," Arix said, thinking about the pontifex waiting outside and not wanting to delay any further.
"Okay," they replied and quickly retreated to the psychic world as if chased by devils.
This obvious guilty behavior made Arix narrow her eyes and raise an eyebrow in thought. It seemed they were indeed talking about her behind her back. But she let it go, thinking how cute they were.
Arix shook her head and opened the door, stepping out. "Sorry to keep you waiting," she said with a smile.
"No problem, let’s go," the priest said, eyes widening in awe at Arix’s beauty before his face turned pale. He stammered his words and then hurriedly led the way, as if chased by a devil.
Arix was utterly confused. ’Why does he seem afraid of me?’
...
Arix walked into the testing room.
Seeing another person enter, the elder priest in the testing room first admired the girl’s looks and then smiled warmly. "Place your hand here, please."
"Okay," Arix nodded politely and placed her hand on the testing device. The device scanned her hand with a purple light, absorbing a bit of her psychic power.
Shortly after, the virtual screen displayed the words "testing in progress."
Soon, the screen showed two lines of results representing physical power and psychic power.
Psychic Power: Supergiant++
Physical Power: Supergiant Class
Seeing the line for her psychic power, Arix frowned slightly in displeasure. ’Why did my psychic power increase again? Is that really a good thing?’
However, her physical power seemed more unpredictable, having impressively risen by two levels!
Looking at her physical power, Arix felt a bit of comfort in her otherwise bad mood.
She nodded in satisfaction, deciding to treat herself to some delicious food as a reward for her new achievements.
