My bad it would be spoiler but know that it's just sending a spiritual representation of yourself in the past so that you can change the way you die by alternating events though the original doesn't know as you are technically dead and will soon to exist, like you go can go into past when you die but only your soul and it can try to change the past events for your past self to change the death route but the you soul one will die so technically it has infinite chance but the catch is the current you will die. ..
