Let's be honest... he didn't really need that spear. He already has a really good sword and great sword skills too... he could also just buy a better spear from the system when it came back.
This whole thing was probably just to further the plot and have an annoying young master up his a*s.

I mean he lives forever so he might just try to see what the physical world knows before wasting energy on it but yeah
Putting it like this, it really doesn't seem worth in the slightest for Ning to do research on his own 💀
He should have stayed in the cloths her body would have gave off heat energy that he could absorb
