Peak novel. I absolutely love the MC. Philosophical exploratory in this novel is so good. Reading it is just different kind of experience. I hope one day this novel comes back.

Truly one of the best webnovels in history. My first webnovel that i actually completed (ik its not finished). Its an amazing novel with interesting dynamics and great storytelling. the power system is in 9 ranks but there are so many factors that in no way can it be called a simple infarastructure. i will glaze this novel till i die and its one of the only ones im willing to reread.

Best piece of fiction i ever read it my life

I read it 4 years ago and still i haven't found anything better than this

I have read and consume countless fictions in these last 4 years but none could make me feel that they are better than Ri

But they just simply couldn't

This is a masterpiece. While it is a cultivation novel, it will ruin other cultivation novels for you when you read it. The power system, despite being incredibly simple and divided into 9 ranks only, is expanded and diversified by the presence of Gu. The expanded range of abilities later in immortal gu masters just makes it even better. It's amazing overall. The construction and worldbuilding of the world is also amazing. To go to Fang Yuan: he's brilliant. He's ruthless, callous, shameless, and completely immoral, but he's also terrifyingly intelligent and cautious. All this comes together to form a main character who is captivating, never knowing what scheme he will come up with next and what insane thing he will do in his quest. And through this story, it's never forgotten what his quest is: immortality, or death trying. Fang Yuan is almost a complete character from the beginning, but the relative lack of character growth or change is not a detriment to the story as that character growth is instead found in side characters like Fang Zheng or Feng Jin Huang, and never feels out of place nor confusing. Referring to the story as a whole: absolutely insane. Widely, it's a criticism and parody of the typical cultivation novel's tropes and stereotypes. It's also a story about perseverance, gruesome and grotesque murder, the true nature of humanity and the human self, and a man's journey to immortality. In fact, I could probably write an essay on the shockingly deep philosophical content in this novel, but it's better that one reads and understands it for themselves. Even when it's not weirdly philosophical or strangely moving, the story is amazing. At my peak reading speed, I was reading over 100 chapters per day. That is how good this is. It's not for everyone - you can probably tell whether or not you can stomach it by the end of book 1 - but if you can, you'll stick with it. Of course, if you've made it to the end of book 1, you'll also stay because of the endings of each of the books. They are, without question, Peak Fiction. Not one of the five book endings is any lower than a 10/10, and there are ones that I would rate somewhere around 50/10 or higher. It's that good. Reverend Insanity is, without question, the best cultivation novel I've ever read. It is also, without question, consistently a (at least decently) well translated novel. This shouldn't be your first Xianxia novel. It is, by large part, something that is made better by understanding common Xianxia tropes and systems. But when you get here, be ready. You'll be hooked.

Best venerable(not including Fang Yuan) hands down Limitless Demon Venerable, the father of Demon venerables. He took his title 'Limitless' too seriously.

Best XianXia ever BUT not a peak novel imho, its fine till 1000ish chapters, slows down from time to time, GZR repeats some known informations a lot to reach the word limit like ok he has 500 years of exp we already know that at 1500+ ch bro? he repeats things a lot. Has its peak moments like refining FIT, stealing sovereign fetus gu, refining perseverance gu, limitless dv's revival but other than these its just a decent novel. I love FY, his efforts, his perseverence, his way of making things to reach his main goal, eternal life, and all but... If i were to give one example of the most annoying things to me is him being able to outsmart/outplan SCIV after she gets revived, like she is a f*cking SUPREME GRANDMASTER WISDOM PATH VENERABLE bro. Heavenly Secret Gu can deduce anything without any clues but a wisdom path venerable cant make an immortal move that works like this or has even a fracture of its power? No, its just like a shounen novel to me with extra dark steps. Still one of my favourites tho. Peak moments are just too peak. Would recommend. Can get dislike bombed to hell but its ok im just expressing my thoughts about this "peak". And GZR's math path attainment is on f*cking negatives.

It's very good, but such a dark story is not for everyone... especially the Chinese - they banned the book.

The story won't ever be completed 💀

Refine gu, refine human, refine heaven itself. I got chills man. No novel can top this. It had such a realistic vibe to it even though it was fantasy
