“That is not a wizard’s weapon! That’s a warrior’s!” Anna shouted.

“Son, that’s a mace,” Anders pointed at while looking at the weapon for Anna that he retrieved from the game.

“This weapon is called The Heart of The Oak and was made for a legendary Druid, but its abilities also apply to wizards,” Anton said.

He then described all the powerful properties the legendary runeword weapon had, but Anton pointed out the main part which was increasing the ability of a wizard’s spell casting by three levels, so all spells that the wielder would cast would have the power of a much higher rank spell by three levels, and not only that, the weapon would heal the caster while wielding it.

Anton handed the weapon to his sister. All of them could feel the power that was emanating from the Heart of the Oak weapon, and no one could deny that it was a legendary weapon, but Anton could see that Anna didn’t like how it looked. It was understandable since it was truly a weapon that looked like it should be wielded by a muscly barbarian.

While holding the Heart of the Oak mace, Anna cast a simple light spell and the three of them were almost blinded by how bright it was. After that, Anton and Anders was surprised when Anna ruthlessly cut her arm which made Anton told her sister that she was stupid.

“I just want to test the weapon’s defensive and healing capabilities,” Anna whispered.

“You’re under my aura! That meant that you would not be able to test out the weapon since my magic would heal you immediately. Once we find another island, you can test it out!”

Anna and Anders knew that it would be a while before Anna could test the weapon since they had not seen any islands during the last week.

Anton could see that even though the Heart of the Oak was truly a legendary weapon, Anna didn’t like it. He knew that he had made a mistake in just getting the most powerful weapon and not considering what Anna would prefer. It was also a little impractical since, unlike the Enigma armor that their father could always wear, it would be awkward for Anna to always carry it, and one of the most important parts of carrying a legendary item was for the wielder to carry it always.

“Give it back, Anna. I’ll just use it and after six weeks, I’ll create another legendary item, but this time I will offer several item options that you can choose, like amulet, rings, or wands,” Anton told his sister.

Anna handed the weapon back to Anton immediately, and that confirmed that Anna really disliked it. While holding the weapon, Anton suddenly thought of just giving it to his father since, personally, he didn’t want to hold onto something while fighting with his enemies in the real world. Anton knew that it was truly a mistake for him to transfer the Heart of the Oak weapon without considering their circumstances.

“Father, can you use this weapon? It will truly make you a very powerful wizard or even a warrior,” Anton said.

Anton handed the Heart of the Oak mace to his father, and when Anders held it, there was a look of shock on his face.

“I can feel it! I feel an overwhelming power in my body,” Anton’s father said.

It was understandable since with Anders wielding two legendary items from the Diablo II game, those two items would provide Anton’s father with overwhelming stats, and any spells that he cast would have the power of a much higher-ranked wizard spell.

Anna returned to practicing her magic, and Anton returned to splitting his attention between controlling their boat and creating a new character in the ladder competition. Their father, though, spent the next several hours practicing wielding his new mace.

Anton created a new Druid character and started leveling it, but he and Anna had to stop what they were doing when afternoon arrived because their father told them that it was time for them to practice their sword skill.

That afternoon, Anders didn’t practice using a sword but continued teaching using the mace, but their father had to switch after a few minutes since wielding a mace and sword was different, and Anna and Anton were used to the sword by then.

After their physical exercise that afternoon, Anders returned to practicing magic.

Another seven days passed, which Anders quietly announced. Their father took it upon himself to take note of the time that had passed. Anton thought of the fact that his sister and father didn’t request to watch any movies or television shows. It was as if that important entertainment option disappeared from their lives. Even Anton only managed to watch the short videos to rot his brain but he already stopped doing that and focused on leveling up his new ladder characters.

Anton had already reached the maximum level of two characters, and twenty percent of those characters' main stats were transferred to his real-life body, and he could feel his power growing. He instinctively knew that all of his spells were more powerful. His Druid character also reached level seventy. He got used to the fact that for new characters in the ladder season, because of his non-stop playing even during the night, he would typically reach level sixty or seventy in the first week and would spend the next four weeks reaching level ninety-nine. He also didn’t forget to retrieve a minor mana potion and a minor health potion every day, and their collections of potions grew. Half was being kept by his father and half by his sister.

They still encountered storms, but did not encounter any sea monster attacks. Anton could almost guarantee that it was because of the Cloak of Shadow assassin skill. It kept them hidden from everything.

After another five weeks of traveling with Anders announcing the passing of time each week, Anna announced that she had reached wizard rank five. She could now be considered a powerful wizard, and due to her young age, any wizard organization that would see her would do their best to gather her into their fold. Anders also told his children that he reached wizard rank three. The main reason why their ascendance was extremely fast was that they were doing nothing but magic while they were traveling.

Normally, a rank up was a celebration, but Anna and their father only had determination on their faces. He knew that they would not be satisfied until they could contend with the most powerful undead. Anton understood. The three of them wanted to have the power to fight and to not run anymore.

The only interruptions to their magic practice were their meals, their two-hour sword practice, and a few hours of sleep each day.

During those five weeks, Anton had to utilize the enchanted floating board that he modified and attached to their lifeboat so he could sleep for a few hours. His experiment of finding out how long he could stay awake without suffering from any mental issues was four weeks, so once every month, he needed to sleep for at least eight hours. While he slept, their lifeboat was just floating on top of the ocean without moving, but due to the Cloak of Shadow skill, they remained hidden and safe.

Anton reached the maximum level for the Druid character, but he didn’t immediately retrieve any items from the game. As promised to Anna, Anton would compile a list of items that she could choose.
