The sun was not fully down, so while Anton was preparing to rest, Anders tested the capabilities of his new runeword armor. Anton and Anna watched their father’s antics on the small island. The first thing that Anders tested was the supposed faster walking and running.

Anders walked first, and Anton and Anna saw that their father’s movement was simply walking, but his speed didn’t match his movement. It looked like Anders was sprinting. When Anders ran using his full speed, they were amazed at his speed.

Using an ordinary sword, Anders cleaved a tree with no apparent effort. Finally, Anton and Anna’s father tested the teleport spell, and the man managed to teleport five times before his mana emptied. It was filled immediately because of Anton’s meditation aura, but they now knew Anders’s limit, which was, of course, temporary because Anders was still growing his mana.

Normally, a wizard’s mana limit would not be put in question because the spell slot was the natural limiter. Once all the spell slot was used, the wizard would have to memorize the spells again, which in turn would allow the wizard’s mana to refill naturally.

Anton found it a little weird because from the little research that he had done about DnD, mana was one of the stats that was not in use. He had always thought that the only use that a wizard in this world had for the mana stats from his Diablo II system was the speed at which they could memorize a spell.

He thought that because his Meditation Aura and the tamed mana that filled out a room helped a wizard to fill out his mana or energy, and that was why they were able to memorize their spells faster. The logic was flimsy, but Anton was not learned enough to speculate how magic worked.

Anders kept on playing around, so Anna went back to her magic practice, and Anton simply slept.

When Anton woke up, it was still dark, and when he checked the time, it was around three in the morning. He checked their surrounding and after he was sure that they were safe, he woke up his father and Anna and told them that it was time for them to leave.

Anders and Anna simply transferred to the bunk bed when Anton went in front of their boat and started controlling it again using his Telekinesis spell to continue flying west. While they were flying, Anton wondered why there were so many islands in the area where they were at and he remembered that this location was near the tropical island where they were supposed to stay for a couple of weeks and according to the information that he had learned about the island, its surrounding area was dotted with different sizes of island.

More than likely, once they left this area, islands would be rarer.

Anton then split his attention between controlling the ship and creating a new character in the ladder system. He created a Necromancer character and started leveling it up by joining a party. One thing he could say in the ladder system was, the party system could carry anyone.

He was also thankful that the party system in the ladder competition was different from his party system in real life. That meant that he didn’t need to remove his father and sister from his party system.

When morning arrived, Anton quit the game and did his morning ablutions in the tiny bathroom, and after that, waited for his father and sister to wake up. When they did, they did their morning routine, and then they ate breakfast. Anders still tried his best to engage his son and daughter in conversation, but just like before, Anton and Anna still talked using fewer than six words.

After breakfast, the three of them continued doing their own thing again. Anton briefly wondered why his father and sister didn’t ask him for a movie or a television show. Just like before, when afternoon arrived, Anders coerced Anton and Anna to practice swordcraft with him, and the siblings indulged their father. After that, they returned to doing what they were doing before.

When the sun had set, the three simply ate dinner, and then Anna cast a spell that produced light, and Anders and Anna returned to mind-numbing magic practice.

During the next seven days, everything remained the same except that Anna announced that she had ranked up to level three, and a couple of days after that, Anders announced that he had ranked up to level one. Anton’s Necromancer in the Ladder Competition reached level sixty.

Anton’s sister was truly becoming very powerful, and there’s a chance that before she turned fifteen, maybe even earlier, she would reach the archmage status.

A lot of party mates tried to befriend Anton, but he kept his distance from those people who were getting closer to him. He didn’t want new friends. His emotions were still raw, and he avoided anything that might reopen his wounds.

There was also a new problem that Anton encountered, and that was the lack of islands that they could stop for him to rest, so he quit playing for several hours to modify a flying board that he had previously made so he could attach it to their boat. Using the enchanted board would allow the boat to float in place for several hours, then he could use that time to sleep.

Anton also planned to experiment on how long he could continue without sleeping. During the next five weeks, their travel remained the same. His father and sister remained focused on practicing their magic so they could increase their rank as soon as possible. By the end of the fifth week, Anna told them that she reached level four, and Anders announced that he reached level two. Anton collected a fairly large number of minor mana potions and minor health potions that his father and sister split between them.

Anton also spent a considerable amount of time hunting for runes that he could use to create the runeword Heart of the Oak that he could transfer from the game to the real world. At first, he was torn between the runeword weapon Insight and Heart of the Oak for Anna since the Meditation Aura’s use was considerable for a mage, but then the advantages of the Heart of the Oak weapon would give Anna were humongous.

Just as scheduled, after six weeks from when he gave the runeword armor Enigma to his father, he reached the maximum level for his Necromancer character and transferred the weapon Heart of the Oak from the game to the real world. The best thing about the items that he transferred from the game to the real world, unlike those he created or the actual game items, they didn’t have a level requirement, allowing his father and his sister to wear them. He wondered about that but didn’t spend time on wondering since he was fully amenable to the idea of why look at the gift horse in its mouth when all the advantages were yours.

It was after breakfast that he retrieved the runeword weapon Heart of the Oak from the game to the real world. The weapon was massive, but Anna should be able to carry it. The aura of the runeword weapon was as mighty as the aura that the Enigma armor releases, so his father and sister noticed it immediately.

“What is that weapon?” Anders exclaimed, since the Heart of the Oak was massive.

“This is the legendary Sorceress weapon that I’ve made,” Anton said.
