Anton’s father stopped struggling when he heard Anton’s voice telling him that the shadow-like man holding him was his familiar. Anders looked around and saw Anton beside him and Anna being hugged by another person who looked exactly like Anton but wearing a different set of armor. Then Anton’s father fainted.

Since his father fell asleep again, Anton just kept on flying to the west. Without anything to distract him, the only thing he could think of was his memories of the time he spent with his family and friends.

He remembered when they hired Frederick. He remembered the mage’s amazement about Anton’s power. He remembered the hope that bloomed on the man’s face when they realized he could memorize spells as fast as those genius mages because of Anton’s auras. He remembered the unabashed happiness that Frederick displayed the moment he ranked up. And now he was dead, and the only thing Anton could do was cry pathetically like some useless, powerless kid.

He remembered the first time they met Lucas and his family. Anton’s family had become so close to them that Anders treated Lucas as his brother, and that was why Anton also treated Devon and Lunelle as his brother and sister.

Anton remembered the time they met Colin, who was unable to walk because of his missing legs. It was the first time he realized that his Prayer Aura could actually regenerate limbs. Then they hired the man to help them. Since their family came from humble beginnings, they never treated Colin as a servant, but as part of the family.

He remembered when they hired Ramona and Belinda as Anna’s companions. The girls were so happy since they could be with a family who would treat them fairly and not use them and discard them just like most of the others in their situation. Anna was happy that she had companions near her age.

Anton remembered the time when he met each one of the people in his life. He thought that he would be able to continue living with them happily when they reached New Drennor. His life was finally beginning to become happy, and he was starting to look forward to the future, but now each and every one of them was gone.

Since his father and his sister were still unconscious, Anton let himself go and cried as hard as he could. He couldn’t bury his grief anymore and knew that if he persisted in doing so, he might go insane.

After a few hours of grieving and crying, Anton calmed down, but he began to worry about his father and his sister’s reactions when they realized that everyone was gone.

Anton’s father just met three ladies that we’re willing to be with him, and Anton dreaded the time when Anders learned that all three of his lovers didn’t survive the undead’s attacks. He also didn’t know how Anna would react.

After an hour of continuous flying, Anton started crying again. His chest started to hurt again, but he didn’t stop himself from grieving since this might be the only time that he would have the freedom to do so. He knew that if he wanted him and his family to survive, he needed to concentrate, and if he was grieving during those times that he needed to focus; it could be very dangerous for the three of them.

Anton grieved for so long that he was amazed that there were still tears coming out of his eyes. Whenever he thought that he was done crying, he would then remember his friends’ faces then he would start crying again. He felt like a child and at that moment, his only desire was for his mother to embrace him and protect him from the world.

He remembered the first time he met Antonia, Lucia, Walter, and Philip. They came from rich families and, in return, for them able to watch television shows with the family; they provided all the information they could to make sure that they could live a good life in New Drennor. He remembered how excited Antonia and Lucia were when they were preparing to host the Cosplay Event, and during those times, Anton felt that his life would start to revolve around movies that he would share with the citizens of this world, and holding cosplay events. He was even beginning to plan on when he could start to indoctrinate everyone on the glory of anime.

He remembered his juvenile shenanigans with Torun, Blake, Andrea, and Soren. Even Soren’s gangs sometimes joined them in creating havoc inside the ship, and the funny part was, no one was willing to scold them because of Anton being an archmage and the son of the man who owned the cinema.

Anton thought that once they arrived in New Drennor, he would remain friends with them and when the time for him to introduce anime to this world, he would start the revolution with them.

Remembering his friends brought fresh tears, even though he thought he was done with crying. He realized then that his grieving would probably last a long time. He also knew that from then on, he wouldn’t be able to have close friends anymore. The lives on this world were as fragile as a thin glass, and he knew that he couldn’t handle any more wounds on his heart since a few more and his heart would shatter.

Night arrived, which Anton welcomed because it would better hide them with the help of his Cloak of Shadows, since he thought that a dark patch on the ocean was conspicuous. His father and his sister were still unconscious, and the only thing he could do was to keep on flying. Anton suddenly wondered why he didn’t feel any hunger. He did feel thirst and drank some water that he conjured using his mastery over the Ice Bolt spell.

Drinking the mana water that he conjured, his thoughts drifted to Maide and Bailey, their family horses that were on the verge of becoming spirit animals because Anton kept feeding them mana water, and wondered when his grieving would stop. His heart hurt so much that he began to think of trying to search for a spell that would allow him to forget the past. He didn’t want to cry anymore since his eyes hurt, but tears kept coming down nonstop. It was as if someone opened a faucet that was lurking behind his eyes.

During the night, Anton saw a small island ahead, but again, he bypassed it since he wanted to make sure that the undead would not find them. He wondered if he would return to constantly running to avoid the undead.

Anton thought that since they were far enough away from Rendindura that they could start rebuilding their lives and that the running would soon stop, but then, here they were. The three of them, running again.

He kept retrieving the compass from his inventory since Anton wanted to make sure that they continued heading west since as far as he knew, the Gale Continent was on the west. Of course, he knew that he wouldn’t be able to reach the said continent since they were still seven or eight months away from that land.

They would probably stop on an island, but he would have to do so once they were several days, even weeks, away from where the Amelia was destroyed.
